We booked shearings coach tours as wre have been with them before.we were a party of 6 one being an 8 year old, who has been waiting all year for the tattoo. We were in the holiday inn east kilbride. The hotel was nice and the rooms were lovely. There wads a swimming pool that we could use and jaccusi . Breakfast was buffet style. Our driver was Chris who is the best driver we have ever had nothing was too much trouble and he kept us entertained. The downside of hotel was that it was 40 minutes walk to nearest shop, no entertainment at night, and the service in the resteraunt at night was a shambles, we waited 40 mins between dishes.
Clean, convenient location to where we were visiting. Staff were friendly. Overall decent hotel. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean. Free parking for your car. Room size was adequate, usual amenities were available such and iron and stand.
Polite, efficient and friendly service. All staff well trained and keen to help but not overbearing. Comfortable room although if I’m being really picky, the mattress was a bit soft. Bathroom clean and sufficiently stocked. Would stay again.
We booked a Junior suite due to having a toddler with us and we've been gutted by the state of it for the price we paid per night(£255 with breakfast). No spare bedsheets for the sofa bed even after my husband asked ,dirty walls, dusty and cobwebs, the main bed headrest has a space between matress and headboard so if you sleep without pillow you will hit the wood panel.Low soundproofing,no toilet brush, toilet bin broken, the bed seemed just partially changed, one remote but 2 tvs, one we had to make it work ourselves. Not much to choose from at breakfast ,frozen berries for youghurt or cereals which were still frozen compensate that they had some fresh fruit salad, but being in season i would expect some fresh berries, hash browns also some supermarket brand had a bitter taste. We never stayed in a Holliday Inn and for a first experience was bad enough to avoid them in the future.…
After reading reviews for both here and MacDonald Crutherland House (both are the only dog friendly hotels in East Kilbride) I chose to stay here in a suite purely based on the food options available for vegetarians! The suite was spacious and had the promised separate living area with a tv. It was on the 3rd floor so was accessible by both lift and stairs. The receptionist, Daniel, was very helpful on checking in and providing an extra room key card despite a coach load of tourists arriving at the same time! We ate dinner in the hotel and the staff were all attentive to our dog. The next morning we went down to breakfast at 9:20 and found that there was little hot food left as we had read in other reviews. However, we spoke to one of the staff and she arranged for the kitchen to make all the veggie options fresh - everything was lovely. I also overheard another guest ordering omelettes at 9:40 despite breakfast ending at 9:30 on a weekday morning. Overall we had a lovely 1 night stay - the room was a bit tired in places but for the price and having the flexibility of being able to take our dog with us it was well worth it. …
Hotel is clean but very basic, rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade, not value for money at the price they are charging; took over 15 minutes to check out at 7am (Printer wasn’t working and I’m still waiting on my emailed receipt), I was losing the Will to live! - god help customers when they are busy! Staff appear to be disinterested in assisting customers. Definitely won’t re-visit or recommend - try another hotel in the area, there are better places.
We arrived here for 1 night only. On arrival there was no one on reception, this was actually a recurring theme as there was no one there when we were checking out or when we needed help. Went to restaurant, ordered 2 leek and potato soup via the qr code, not available so we reordered tomato soup and a chip with bread and butter. The soup was like tomato ketchup so we sent it back. Bread was not fresh, and when we went to pay the girl hadnt taken our original order off manually as she said she would. Most staff were untidy, shirt tails hanging out etc, witnessed one staff member walking from reception to kitchen while fastening his belt and tucking his shirt in. Staff just nipped in and out of kitchen at will for a chat. When checking out couldnt get a receipt, printer wasnt working, staff couldnt provide a breakdown of charges on our bill as computer was signed in by someone else. Staff seemed to spend their time out the back of reception. Only positive things were room service drinks arrived promptly and a member of bar staff helped to redo our room tickets as there was a big queue at reception. The hotel is very run down, rooms basic but in need of upgrade. Definitely wont be back…
This hotel is in a filthy, dirty and awful condition. I have stayed in many Holiday Inn's but this is by far the worst. I took my family here thinking the Holiday Inn represents a minimum level of quality but this was appalling. Upon arrival the outside of the hotel was scruffy and appeared run down. We were then greed by a guy on the front desk who appeared totally disinterested and told us nothing about the facilities or hotel. We were given an "executive room" and the complaint is mainly about the cleanliness and safety of the room. In short the room was disgusting. Thick with dust, a rusty broken bin, vomit stains all over the carpet, cigarette burns on the pillows, stains all over furniture an absolutely disgusting state. It appears like this hotel is being allowed to go downhill and no one seems to notice nor care. On the safety front there are bumps in the wall which may be a sign of asbestos (we will report this to the health and safety executive) and also for a family room the wide opening window means a child could easily crawl out and fall. As a regular and loyal customer of Holiday Inn I was appalled by the state of this property and did wished I did not bring my family here. Whoever owns the franchise here does not deserve to use the Holiday Inn brand and I strongly recommend that IHG investigate this property. I feel robbed for what I paid for this absolute dump.…
I visited this hotel a few times before lockdown and it was tired back then but its even worse now. Pro's - Free car park, relatively modern bar area Con's - Stains or marks up alot of the walls, stains on bed linen and towels, stains on seats, dirt and hair along sideboards and in corners, dirty shower tray, broken air con, bathroom door falling to bits, table and bedside table haven't been cleaned since the last guest so who knows about their covid cleaning protocols. I rang reception to ask to ha e air con looked at and towels replaced but waited over an hour for anyone to turn up. This was all from staying for 2 nights and I changed rooms between night 1 and 2, both rooms were the same.
Hotel itself is very easy to find and the location was good for supermarkets. There is a car park which is free, all you need to do is place your car registration in the touch screen at reception. The check in was good, the young lady helped me with all of the information I needed. As I was there in business, it was good to be prepared. The room was large and spacious however the cleanliness was not as good as I have experienced from previous Holiday Inn hotels. There was dust on the lamps, cup stains on the bedside and the desk, debris behind the bathroom door (including hair), confetti on the floor, under the bed and at the room door. There was also an open can of energy drink in the fridge. The carpet needs cleaned as there are stains and a general paint job would really freshen the room up. In addition to this, the seal on the shower screen (for the bath) was damaged. It’s the small details! I was fortunate enough to have a separate shower though. On the plus side, the sheets were fresh, as were the towels. Very important aspect for me. Each day, my key card would stop working. The first time I approached the reception desk, it was busy with people checking in, I waited and got it sorted. However the next day, the key needed reprogrammed again. The lady asked for my room number and surname in the booking. I was delighted by this security check and questioned why I wasn’t asked this the previous day. The gentleman who reprogrammed my key the first time looked very unkempt, I am afraid to say. White shirt was actually grey and needed ironed. The food in the hotel was good, ordered online and was served quickly (evening meal). Only issue was there was no coke. The breakfast is self service and was good also. There is also a Starbucks onsite which was excellent. Who doesn’t like a Starbucks?!…
