I gave 1 star because I wanted to comment! We had hired the room for my great grandson's christening and guests came from far and wide. The room was dressed according to the package but first thing noticeable was the little boy's name spelt out in balloons with one of the letters back to front...bizarre. Then the entertainment turned up...

Attended for a Christening, arrived early and was served the wrong ale, no problem, changed without fuss. Went into the hall which was well set out. Ale tasted funny, changed again. Staff were great, the function room was spot on. People eating Sunday lunch appeared very satisfied.

Food was fine and reasonably priced, but dining experience was totally ruined by out of control kids running about and screaming. The decision to allow kids into bars was a worse decision than joining the EU

In a great location near the car parks at Seaburn Beach. Done out lovely since refurb and the food is just the job when you're peckish after a long walk along the beautiful beaches. Pub Grub at it's best in a friendly atmosphere. Bargains to be had too during happy hour. Good selection of popular meals and beers. Would definitely...

Friendly welcome, comfortable surroundings and delicious food. The Ranch Burgers were tasty and very filling, the shared treacle pudding and custard was perfect and with 2 drinks and 2 coffees the bill came to a very reasonable £27. The service was very good and the staff were attentive, we'll definitely be back.

Five of us went for lunch yesterday and were pleasantly surprised. Excellent choice on the menu. We all chose from the specials menu with two courses for £5.95. We had garlic mushrooms, pate, potato skins etc for starters and lasagne, fish and chips and burger for mains. We all thoroughly enjoyed what we picked. Staff were very friendly and food...

Went for Sunday lunch a while back, but wish we'd gone elsewhere. Tasteless food, unfriendly atmosphere, unwelcoming ambience, slow service - all the things you don't want to find in a restaurant. Far better when it was the former Roker Victory Club.
