Arrival very nice receptionist. Room first floor sea view and shabby look to of the bridge. Room black walls work very well in so sizeable room. Little bit marks on the table but generally very good! We like early dinner and booked table for 6pm. Arrival beautiful chandelier light restaurant and though we were dressed for the occasion - we were led dark back room to sit next to ‘wine cellar’, perhaps place more like to take mistress for dine? We had to climb bench on the wall so wide that no back support at all. Menu we managed to read with our mobiles. As uncomfortable situation we decided to go glass of Riesling each and Halibut. Refusing also dessert, bill arrived and I had to show light with my mobile to able my husband to sign bill. We tested the bar and it was full of mpeople queueing drinks - as we had seen other bar area coming in the hotel and our ‘surprise’ closed.…
Great breakfast, nice location by the sea, clean rooms and amazing ”comfort zone” shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. :) If you are looking for central location, this might not be the right place for you. It’s isolated from the train station, bars and restaurants. If you are looking for peace and like a good walk (around 1-3 km every day), this might be the place for you. It has a great spa for relaxing times.
Without any doubts - this is a place where You must be and there You have a chance to enjoy. Incredible place, fantastic possibilities, food and service. In other words - there You will have the best chance to spent fantastic time!
Very good food, and the spa was very nice. It was clean and well maintained, though there were minor things that needed fixing in the room. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and the checkout process was very smooth.
This hotel is fantastic in so many ways. The location and the hotel itself is great. Staff is service minded and you need to visit the spa, just don’t forget to book the spa in time for your arrival. I warmly recommend Stenungsbaden.
Booked one night for two including breakfast for 1700:-. Got to the check-in desk and she says "we can offer you a upgrade room for 500:- with a bottle of wine". So that would make our one night stay 2200:-. We looked at the room and it was just "ok"so we said we will stick with the room we booked. Then we were told "would you like to book a "two hour time slot to use the pool which will cost an extra 200:- per person" When i heard that i said "the pool is not included in the hotel price"? CANCEL MY RESREVATION !!
Hi! The spa, gym and sauna is great. The staff were polite, and a nice ocean view from the room. Unfortunately, the rest was not up to scratch. The hotel itself is definitely over-due for some care, and it’s not being sold as promoted. Restaurant options are limited, and breakfast felt warmed up from the day before. Hope to see some changes in the near future! All the best.
Perfect leisure time in a unique atmosphere! The staff at the reception desk was extremely helpful, nice and warm, also at the restaurant all the personal was always keen to help as, thanks to them we have a special festive evening in the family, very tasty breakfast, the pastry is very good, the rooms are carefully clean, with special attention to all the details, especially in this COVID-time , the sea view in the deluxe double rooms is splendid. Well placed, the Stenungsund Center is at 10 -15 minutes walk, Tjorn Island is worth visiting and also the surroundings of the hotel are very nice.
Me and my partner stayed at Stenungsbaden over a night as a romantic getaway. I bought a spa package for 3 649 Swedish kronor. It included an overnight stay, spa for 2 hours, dinner and breakfast morning after. I am fairly disappointed and here is why. Spa just for 2 hours is not an excessively much time and it was crowded with people although we were told that it would be Covid 19 adjusted… we got a room with 2 single beds like teenagers and beds were so old, hard as steel and uncomfortable that we had difficult to fall asleep and woke up with back pain. But the thing that made our stay miserable was absence of air conditioner (AC) in our room. I thought I didn’t manage to turn it on and went to reception to ask for help. Receptionist said only luxury rooms had AC and we had booked ordinary room that was hooked up to central AC which was off and they had no plans to turn it on. Let me point out here that when I booked this getaway info didn’t say that room would have 2 single beds or that we would not have air conditioning in august. We were staying at Stenungsbaden on 21st of august, believe me you need air conditioning in august! Day after at breakfast, we ere given 09:45 time slot, people inflow was supposed to be managed and it was supposed to be COVID 19 friendly, but people was all over the place, we had difficulty to find a table to sit at when we finally, after 10 minutes queuing managed to get some food. Dinner evening before was OK though. That was our unfortunate experience and I’ll say you might have different, may be better experience staying at Stenugnsbaden but I sure would not have payed even a half of that price have I known what our “romantic spa getaway” would be like.…
Located around 30 min from Gothenburg city. Bigger conference type of retreat. New England inspired. Big car park outside. Room size is ok, bathroom is fine with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available, no body lotion. Both the rooms and the retreat it self is starting to be a little bit tired. In our room we had a light bulb missing in one of the bed side lamps, charger function in the headboard did not work, so we hade to unplug other lamps in the room to get outlets available. There was no AC in the rooms, needed to keep window open, this was ok until there were people walking past the window talking loudly and unfortunately made us wake up. For the Spa, you get a slot time when booking, this is to try to restrict the amount of people in the area at the same time, there were quite many at the same time anyway, so not sure how well it worked. Outside there is one Jacuzzi and a smaller outdoor pool, without infinity edge. You can’t see much while sitting in the pool. Inside is a bigger pool to swim in, different types of showers, ice bucket, a heated smaller sitting pool, steam and Finnish sauna, a heated seat room. There is a sauna by the sea, did not try this as there were a constant stream of people trying to get in. Dinner was a very nice experience. Slot time reserved at the time of booking. We had a set three course menu included in the package, wine pairing available. Starter was Creamy seafood salad and bleakroe with little gem, briochetoast, scallions and fried shallots, very tasty with a well paired white wine from Spain. Main was amazing, absolutely recommend to try the Oven baked cod served with beetroot, boiled potatoes, browned butter, horseradish, dill & lemon. Dessert Key Lime Pie with mascarpone creme, italien maringue, digestive & lime, ok flavours nothing super exciting. Breakfast is served in the same area, with a wide selection to choose from. Nice selection of yoghurts with different toppings.…
