Great welcome, very comfortable and warm room in freezing February. Bathroom, bed, furnishings and decor really tasteful and typical of French farmhouse. Breakfast excellent with a real farmhouse atmosphere. We will return again when next we head to south of France or to Alps.

Just had an overnight stay at the Au Petit Tabour d'Autingues on route to the channel tunnel. We arrived at about 6.30pm and were made to feel very welcome by Anges. Our room was huge, the family have been refurbishing over the years and have restored it so that it still looks in keeping with the original building. Our room...

Good for families. Four of us stopped and it was handy for Calais ferry port. Hostess spoke no English whatsoever so be prepared. 100 euros for Edelweiss room that slept 4 in two separate bedrooms tho and there was an additional single bed in the double bedded room (so could sleep 5). The twin room my two lads slept in...

Stayed here one night last week on way back to UK. Very disappointed. The room was ok, comfortable bed, but it had a fusty smell. Bathroom basic but ok, but the towels...........threadbare! The welcome was not exactly warm and we were handed a sheet with a list of eating places. Some other people checking in at the same time as...

We stayed here one night on the way from England to the South of France. The room was cosy, well decorated and warm, the mattress and the heating blanket were very appreciated. The breakfast was very good with a croissant, very good bread and a couple of jams, as well as a orange juice and a hot drink (coffee for...

Lovely place, beautiful rustic decoration. Slightly dodgy electrics! Good croissants and bread for breakfast. You'll need some basic French. 20 minutes from ferry, 3 minutes from ardres which is utterly charming.

We stayed at Petit Tambour purely by chance, we were made to feel very welcome, and were both struck and pleased by the simplicity and atmosphere of the accommodation, we chose to switch off our mobile phones and just enjoy the beauty and peace of the place, which end oozed French charm and history. Ardres is a short drive away...

We stayed here on the way through northern France on our first night after arriving on the ferry. The directions given on the website could be improved. Incidentally make sure you go right when there are 2 signs for saint Omer on the dual carriage way. This is where we went wrong and ended up on the a26. We arrived...

Booked two rooms for my husband, teenage son and myself for the last night in France before taking an earliesh shuttle the next morning and we were really pleased to discover the delights of Le Pettit Tambour. The farmhouse, outbuilding and garden are well-tended and prettily decorated, with lots of extra touches (including a coffee/tea tray and kettle). Our rooms...

A lovely place, owned by the same family since 1782. The B&B is in the outbuildings of the chateau, run by the St Just family. Beautifully clean, well decorated, and very tranquil. I'd definitely stay here again.
