We stayed 2 nights and had a fabulous time. Our host was super helpful in guiding us through the attractions in the daintree rainforest and even helped us book a tour. Plus he lent is torches to see at night and oil, salt and pepper for us to cook! We really appreciated the host and the small retreat!

Could not have had a better stay here; easy to find, lovely manager who let us check in early and gave us lots of top tips for the area, as well as a quirky, clean room (totally critter free!!) with all the basics including coffee and milk. We didn't want to leave! Also, don't miss out on dinner next door... More

Little gem in the Daintree! Spotless and clean. Great host with plenty of local advice. Very comfortable rooms and facilities. No aircon but the design of the rooms keep them nice and cool. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Perfect location to see and do all that the Daintree has to offer!

A lovely getaway in the rainforest. Well presented property and very clean. The property has a Balinese type feel about it. The website has some very garish colorful photos of the rooms, but they're not so garish in real life. I loved staying here. Awesome friendly hosts, who gave fantastic local knowledge of what was a must see. Wish we... More

Stayed One Night August 26, 2016 Manager overtly helpful advised of restaurants, hidden gems to see - went out of his way to be accommodating. Pool is clean, rooms are pristine and nice quaint location. Across the road is excellent reasonable food/beverages @ Cow Bay Hotel. Highly recommended and manager is outstanding and what you do not see so much... More

This was without doubt the friendliest welcome of anywhere we stayed in Australia. We had a family unit, which was very clean, functional and good value. We were able to self-cater, as there was a full size fridge and microwave and outside there is a communal bbq, with gas burner and picnic benches. It's a good location - an easy... More

I loved staying here. Trevor, the owner, is so helpful with everything. I felt completely informed about what to do and where to go straight away. The room was perfect and very comfortable and right in the rainforest. I think the location is the best on the Cape for a few reasons. Cow bay is nearby and it's one of... More

We recently spent two nights at the Daintree Rainforest Retreat, and it was great. I had read many reviews of other lodging in this area, but this motel seemed like it would be perfect for me and my son and his two friends. We had two rooms, and one had a kitchenette which was perfect for making breakfast before heading... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Daintree Rainforest Retreat is a small family owned motel. It sits nestled in the forest surrounded by towering trees and lush gardens. While we do not have a restaurant we do offer a covered BBQ area with its own sitting area and a fully equipped and comfortable communal kitchen together with 2 further sitting/dining areas. The Cow Bay Hotel is a 2 minute walk and while it is very close, it can be neither seen nor heard from the motel. Our rooms are cooled by ceiling fans and guests can further escape the tropical heat with a dip in our palm fringed swimming pool. We look forward to seeing you. ... more   less
