Firstly, thank you Vicky for your wonderful cooking and your lovely and gracious hosting. A group of 3 Tassie couples had a night away to celebrate a special occasion. We love holidaying in our own state and Brockley Estate is one of those perfect places for connecting with history, food and friends!

Recently we organised a Management Retreat at Brockley, in which we booked out the entire house for two days. Our requests were accommodated with professionalism and ease. The accommodation and surroundings were unique and added to the success of our retreat. The food was fantastic, all fresh and locally sourced. Dietary requirements of our team were also easily accommodated. We...

A wonderful step back in time. Sumptuous bed, antique lovers museum, a great menu of Tassie wine and produce. Vicki really looked after us. Cooked a yummy brekkie with homemade bread straight from the oven. Complete with open fire in our bedroom, ambience abounds. We will go back in the summer with more hours to explore the extensive grounds along...

A friend recommended our stay here, for the peace and serenity and the amazing food. We loved it, the tranquility was amazing and the food was simple but stunning. Dinner which you need to pre-book was prepared by Vicky and was delicious. Our room (the old dairy) was very comfortable with a seperate living area and small kitchen (I didn't...

Vicki and Joseph went out of their way to accommodate our dietary needs, preparing a delicious cheese platter for our evening meal. They were both very welcoming. We loved the tranquillity, the uniqueness of the homestead, the authenticity of the surroundings and house. Our four poster bed was very comfortable, also beautiful linen and bathroom products. Breakfast was delicious -...

Had the entire place to ourselves was just incredible! Such a warm welcome and great hosts. Brockley is so special it felt like a week's holiday in just one night. The food cooked by Chaxi was without doubt our best meal in Tasmania. Can't wait to stay again!

We had self contained facilities in the old dairy with a wood stove. Chaxi provided an excellent 3 course Spanish meal, matched with Milton Rose, & Julian produced a great breakfast to set us up for the day. Honour bar provides a wide range of drinks. Tons of history & interesting trees around the house. Go for a walk along...

Brockley is an absolute must for couples travelling in Tasmania. The estate seamlessly combines old-world charm with modern amenities, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. The grounds are both beautiful and wild - a walk up the old convict road to the suspension bridge is a definite must. My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful day and night in...

A recent birthday surprise weekend became a wonderful experience from the moment we stepped through the front door. Our host Julian greeted us warmly & we were made to feel welcome immediately. A tour of the homestead highlighted a beautifully restored heritage homestead with all modern facilities. Fires were laid & rooms heated in preparation for guests arrival. We were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Time spent at Brockley Estate is an experience entirely different from what you expect in conventional so-called ‘colonial’ accommodation. The 170-year-old sandstone and convict brick homestead blends seamlessly into its traditional Tasmanian landscape surroundings, with generous verandahs, ancient English trees and hawthorn hedges stretching down to the wide Prosser River.Inside, mellow antique furniture, textiles, pictures and ceramics exude an atmosphere of effortless elegance and good taste that would be almost impossible to replicate in a purely commercial context. With food and wine of a quality rarely encountered in a private house anywhere in Australia, this is genuine colonial country life as it really was and, one hopes, always will be if you know where to look. Now that you are indeed in the know, why not come and share it with us? ... more   less
