We have been visiting this traditional village inn for several years and are happy to travel the 4 miles or so to eat here. Although we have never stayed at the Church Inn, we have spoken to many satisfied guests. But, back to the pub. Firstly, I'm reliably informed that the beers are good and I can vouch for the...

Quite busy with lunch time diners to say its out of the way with street parking, BUT it obviously has a good reputation for beer, good food and pleasant landlord and staff. Can certainly reccommend this pub.

Cracking beer and food! Not to prettiest pub inside...BUT it's everything a country pub should be! Food is basic in title but all excellent quality! Scampi and chips at their finest! The selection of ales is good and they are kept very well!!! Lovely staff and dog friendly! Great!!!!! Will return.

Visited here for the first time {we had walked past before years ago} whilst walking and had some beers and food at lunchtime. We instantly liked the look of the interior, the real fire, the lounge side and the bar side of the bar, and the low ceilings and warm décor. Good range of well kept beers, and the food...

Excellent ambience with great vegetarian options on the Christmas menu. All food was home cooked including the mince pies and served by very polite young waiting staff on very hot plates. Very good value and very welcoming to the two dogs with our party who enjoyed their sausages.

Absolutely love this friendly, cosy, proper pub with real ales and amazing food. A warm welcome is always assured and even with a muddy dog and boots we were allowed in and sat by the fire. Always visit when we stay at a caravan site nearby, a lovely walk over the dale and boy do you need the walk back,...

We have just had a 3 night break at The Church Inn having booked on their 3 for 2 rate. We had eaten some time ago there and enjoyed the food but decided to stay as we could visit Chatsworth. Our room was perfect with a wardrobe each and plug points in handy areas (that alone was brilliant). The bed...

Our group of four stayed over for one night after a day at Chatsworth House and their Xmas markets. This is a lovely pub with rooms, in a tucked away village not far off the A6 between Buxton and Bakewell. The food was delicious, and presented really well. The rabbit pie especially was superb, other mains tried were a generous...
