Peaceful location, good landlord who keeps good beer and employs excellent and friendly staff. A busy atmosphere with visitors and locals. Menu choice varies with standard favourites and specials. Generous portions. Accommodation cosy and spotlessly clean with breakfast cooked to order by another lovely, caring member of the team. Highly recommend - a true old fashioned/no gimmicks village pub set...

Several people on the Caravan Club site at Buxton had recommended this pub for a meal so we decided to call here after a long day touring the Dales. We were given a friendly welcome on arrival. There is a pleasant bar area with a good selection of beers and a long dining area with seating for about 40 people....

This was our 3rd visit to The Church Inn, after a very tiring holiday "stretch" we pulled up at this oasis for the hungersome traveller (around 19:00) & after a brief search for the landlord we were rewarded with food "fit for a king" & entertainment, which Simon Cowell would be envious of. If anyone reading this review is thinking...

My partner and I called in at this lovely village pub for drinks and Sunday lunch. There was a great menu and a good choice of real ales. For a starter we decided to share a Derbyshire oatcake as we were after all in Derbyshire. This was a great starter with an ample side salad and home made cranberry sauce....

We popped in for a bite to eat last night as a change from self catering in our caravan and it was the most local recommended eatery. The pub itself is a typical country pub, decor and layout nothing fancy but it had a lot of character. We both had rabbit /suet pie as it's something that we don't normally...

Lovely pub, food excellent. Well worth a visit. We were staying locally and tried a couple of pubs in the area. This was by far the best, good menu and specials board. Set in the quiet village of Chelmorton it is the ideal setting for a country pub

Good selection of beers, good choice on the menu. Friendly staff. Food arrived after a reasonable time, all spot on and very tasty. No faults at all, and that was for a table of 8 of us which can't be easy for any kitchen.

Stopped for midweek lunch, good food and real ales, very friendly. Clean and well decorated traditional building. Log stove nice on a chilly day. They have a useful leaflet detailing walks in the area.

My sister and I dropped by today, after some business in Buxton. We have visited the Church inn before, as it is a family favorite. We were greeted like good friends and felt very welcome. The food is excellent, I can recommend the beef in Guiness stew with the Stilton dumpling, And my sister loves the salmon with prawns. The...

The location is stunning, village is beautiful. Quite close to a caravan park and within walking distance. Unfortunately we missed the turning! We travelled by car with our dog and we were welcomed with open arms. The food was fantastic, well cooked and hot. A very good choice of food and the drinks were spot on. Lovely happy staff too....
