Overall experience was good. The beach gets really crowded in the day. If you want to enjoy the place, I strongly suggest to stay at least for 1 night to enjoy the place after the day tour crowd has left the island. We stayed in an non air conditioned Bungalow which is very basic but cleaned. The electricity are turned...

In short: The beach is amazing (but overcrowded if you stay for the day only when all trip boats arrive same time) Amazing fish, rare and colourful The sand is white and soft like flour The bungalow accommodation needs improvement (Nov 2014) Be prepared to: See lizards Hear rats on top of the roof See Bats outside the rooms Have...

Similan Island really is a paradise with a beautiful forest. Accommodation is basic but clean. They could do with replacing the mattresses as the springs come through a bit. It is a national park so services are basic but food is available on the island. The sea is pristine, with turtles and many other varieties of sea life. It's peaceful...

Please note that I am not ranking the Similan Islands here (see separate review); only the National Park bungalows. Firstly the 2013 cost was 2000 Bht (almost €50 per night). For that we got: Difficult booking system with extra costs for bank transfer; No wardrobe (although website advertises it); No hot water (although website advertises it); long steep steps with...

This location was amazing, the marine park is crystal clear waters and clean beaches. The National park accomodation, is very basic for the money, We paid 2000 bht per night. Electric is from 6pm to 6am daily. The room has only a cold water shower. Rooms need tidying as they are very tired looking. Rats are a huge problem, they...

“Units 1 and 17 have the best views. Unit 10 is on the first corner and catches the sound of all the passing board-stomping traffic.”

“Lower level rooms are slightly better as there are 67 steps to climb to get to this level and better sea view rooms.”
