Most uncomfortable bed and pillows I've ever had. Barely slept, left at dawn. VERY overpriced, but it's clean and staff is friendly. Our first room's lock was broken. They changed us. Would not stay there again. Would try another place right across the river.

Ok so the good-been here twice now and the riverside bungalows are lovely. A little overpriced in high season but great value in low season.Clean&comfy. The not so good-the best thing about Thaton is the peace.Karaoke opened up next door to the guest house. It's noisy and you can clearly hear it in the bungalows. Ruined it for me I'm afraid....

We have stayed here for 2 nights in a small garden bungalow for 500 thb a night. This is a bit overpriced for what you get, no breakfast or even coffee included. The room is very tiny, but clean. The bathroom was bigger than expected for such a small bungalow. The food and drinks at the restaurant was also overpriced,...

I only stayes one night. Price was good (300/night) and the bungalow was nice. They provide water bottles, towels, and soap. The owner picked me up with a scooter because I walked in the wrong direction (the one time I don't check Google maps) and couldn't find the guesthouse.

We had a car for a few days to tour Northern Thailand. Drove to Thaton and stayed one night in the family bungalow (we were 2 adult, 4 teens). It was great. Clean, simple cottage, beautiful riverside location, restaurant was good with many dinner options. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Agreed that the dogs on the path to town are...

don't come to tha ton for the apple resort, but come to tha ton for the riverside ambience. there is not much to do, but there is a lovely sunset, a nice breeze, good views and great tables for cards and games well into the evening (which may only be until sunset depending on your pace!) we were going to...

I opted for a river side cottage (1300 baht or about $42) because so many reviews suggested it. My girlfriend opted for the 350 baht cottage ($11). A true case of you get what you pay for. My room was Wonderful, roomy, clean, loved the porch on the water. I could not have been happier. My girlfriend was not as...

We cycled into tha ton and booked a cabin on the river . It was quite pleasant, clean with a nice view. However, the management were not helpful to answer simple questions as to where or when the market happens etc. the big problem is that there are 4-5 dogs across the road that confronted us every single time we...

The room was clean and had AC, TV and hot water in the shower. The mattress was as hard as sleeping on the floor. No reading lamps. Location is nice, by the river, food is also ok but expensive for Thai standards. Just like the price of the accomodation, which overall quality doesn't really match what they charge (at least...

Fortunately I came across Tha Ton because I was heading down by long-tailed boat to Chang Rai - the boat trip was amazing! The town of Tha Ton is small and quiet, but has all the facilities you need. From the Apple Resort you have the most amazing view up the hillside to the temple, which is all lit up...

“We recommend the river side bungalows. They are more expensive but the rooms are big and cheerful. The views are wonderful. Our hotel experiences in Thailand taught us that the lowest price room is offered first. We learned to ask about other rooms and often chose the alternative.”
