Please don't go to just any elephant camp, where the animals are tortured and abused on a daily basis for your entertainment. Here at Chai Lai Orchid, they treat the elephants HUMANELY and take good care of their guests, their animals, and their employees. AMAZING...More
I stayed in one of the nature bungalows for 3 nights in December 2016. Arranging transportation through messages with Alexa was easy and the driver showed up promptly as scheduled. Upon arriving, I was greeted with a coconut and a smile. Excellent hospitality throughout the...More
Adventure game is strong at The Chai Lai Orchid. This place is located in the mountains, right on the river- in fact, you cross a rope bridge to get to the hotel- the location is spectacular.
When you come here, you are glamping. There is...More
Our two days in the jungle with Chai Lai was one of the highlights of our 3-week trip. Our guides Champu and Tiger were amazing and so much fun. They were knowledgable, funny, and downright good people. At the end of the trip they weren't...More
We loved our time here! I can't believe I forgot to write a review! We spent the day trekking through the mountains and then we got play with baby elephants in the water and ride an elephant (bare back). This was one of the best...More

The two day trek and elephant combo we did charges more for one person so it must be a cost efficiency thing for them, but otherwise it would be fine going solo. Just elephants I think the cost is the same but not sure. You fly into Chiang Mai airport. They said they shut the hiking down during rainy season but I didn't ask about the elephants. I think they are pretty low key then but I sent them an email at one point and they replied pretty quickly.
We didn't know anything about Thailand but found traveling and visiting to be easy and fun! I wish we had been more bold and maybe at one point had rented a moped to ride out away from tourist Thailand to see the countryside. The people are super nice. Enjoy your trip!

I went there by taxi and then I took a lift.. Payed around 60 baht to get there. But I was there only for about two hours, after seeing the camp, the prices of the tours and the unfriendly owner with only cares about money, I decided to leave. I don't advise no one to go there based on my experience, also, don't trust all the reviews you see there...
If you hi there just please.. Don't buy any of those tours.. They are so overpriced that makes me feel sick when I remember. You get the same (or more) in Chiang Mai for more than 1/3 the price.
