We travelled Raja Ampat for One month and spent four nights at Tabari and had an amazing stay. The overwater bungalows are high quality with comfortable beds, with extra special touches of flowers in room, quality linen and an en-suite bathroom at a resort standard. Meals are served in the overwater restaurant as a set menu. The food is outstanding absolutely delicious and fresh food.
Snorkeling on the house reef is incredible, very healthy coral gardens and marine diversity, we were even lucky enough to see a Dugong . We did one day diving with Tabari and although the dive sites around the island were amazing with visibility of around 30m we felt that local Papuan dive guides would enhance the diving currently offered.
Tabari offers amazing value for money on an island paradise.

What an awesome experience! Staying at Tabari and diving in the surrounding area gave me a rare sense of happiness, witnessing the pristine beauty of Raja Ampat.

The Homestay is run by a passionate french couple in love with island and area. They have done an outstanding job in setting up the accommodation, integrating it in its natural environment. The lodges are cosy and comfortable, the food outstanding and the dives well guided by Edy and his crew.

Thanks for the wonderful experience you have given me!

We spent 10 days at Brigitte Tabari Dive Homestay and we felt like at home! The food was great, everyday day a different dish (with a french touch!). The location is perfect because it is in the center of Raja Ampat, so you can reach easily the most interesting dive spots. The mood is special because it is relaxed and easy going. Brigitte is so kind and keen to her hosts needs, always trying to satisfy them. Diving, snorkeling trips and excursion are amazing and they are daily planned with Brigitte. Definetely Tabari deserves a stop if you plan to go to Raja Ampat: it is the right balance between the local homestay and a more expensive resort. Thanks to Brigitte and to all the team!!

Its hard toWrite a review about the Tarbari. Yes its a wonderful Island with a wonderful reef and Brigitte and Jef Are Nice people. But now there Comes the big BUT (or BUTS):
1. they dont care about the Environment there
2. What is really disturbing: at 7 in the Morning the Power generator Starts and the Stuff Starts to scream out loud all over the area. This was really aweful.
3. I dont know why they try to cook Western Style… it was Not good. I would recommend: let them Cook Indonesien.
4. the Trips… u r put either on the dive or snorkel trip no matter What u say and a Lot of tourists dont say anything. We just Said: no. We chill on the Island.
Hm… fazit: The Tarbari is for Western Tourist who normaly wouldnt Go to a destination Like RA… and…Well the Guests really were like That.
It was Not Bad there, the rooms Are clean and Everything was Fine… but if u want real RA… Go to another homestay

Response from Brigitte Steelandt, Propriétaire at Tabari Dive Lodge
Responded 25 Nov 2023
Hi Franck Fischer, thank you for your comments. regarding the environment I don't understand what you are talking about, but we are always open to improvements, if you have suggestions, with the means available to us we are open. It doesn't seem to me that you made any comments to us during your stay, it's a shame! We try to do our best in the context in which we live. just a little reminder the generator is turned on at 8 a.m. and not at 7 a.m. for a total of 8 hours per day, We need it for cold preservation, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m, when you came, in fact there was Jeff's family who were present, including elderly people, parents, children and grandchildren who had never traveled before, 15 people, it's not really representative compared to ours. regular customers. The majority of our customers appreciate our cuisine, a mixture of Western and Indonesian cuisine. Indeed our concept is an intermediary between local homestays and resorts with a minimum of comfort on a small desert island in Raja Ampat. Our staff is totally Indonesian. The bungalows were built with respect for the environment and in the Papuan tradition. Sorry you didn't like it, as they say you can't please everyone!! Good day to you. Brigitte and Jeff

A stunning location with comfortable rooms beautifully done out and great food. Papua is a difficult destination to travel within as a family, but the owners and staff are very accommodating with food and activities -especially when it came to our children. We had a truly unforgettable week at Tabari and recommend it highly to families exploring the Raja Ampat area.

I loved my stay at Tabari Dive Lodge! A paradise island in one of the best diving spots in the world! Everything was excellent, the people on the island were very friendly, always helpful and attentive to our needs and preferences, especially Brigitte and Jeff. Exceptional food! Dive guides always concerned about our safety and ready to show us the wonders of underwater life. Another incredible experience in Raja Ampat never to be forgotten! Thank you very much to everyone at Tabari Dive Lodge for the way we were welcomed and treated!

We stayed there for a week diving

Brigitte and Jeff are friendly and concerned hosts, that together with their team are always trying to please the guests.

This is true for the house keeping, the cooking and the dive crews.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The food is a mix of local flavors and European cuisine. The quantity is enough. The restaurant is a pleasure, you can enjoy your meals while watching the baby sharks and the small fish schools under the balcony.

The dive boats are spacious and comfortable.

As minus, the house reef is not suitable for dive and the water for shower is salty.

But it is a great Homestay! A much better experience than we had in 2017 in another Homestay at Raja Ampat.

No doubts to recommend.

My first visit to RajaAmpat, well, Indonesia in fact. Mesmerized by the little paradise Brigitte and Jeff are running there! The location is absolutely beautiful on and underneath the land. The area is ideal to experience the spectacular diversity of marine life there. For snorkelers, like me, snorkeling expert , Ezron, will guide you to an amazing experience! The cabin I stayed is elegantly blended with the environment. The food offered is tasty, healthy and offered with a special touch by Brigitte and her team of ladies. I will definitely return for more!

We stayed at Tabari for four nights and had an awesome time. They were very helpful in helping our family of 6 work out the travel details beforehand, and this was just the break from the busyness of life that we needed. We did a lot of diving as well, and they were very professional. The food was also a highlight, with a good mix of local and Western food. We had a good wind blowing into our bungalow every night and it was fun to walk around the island. It was a fantastic Raja Ampat experience!

We enjoyed a relaxing week at Tabari. From the moment we stepped off the boat we felt we had arrived at a tropical paradise. Our bungalow was kept clean and had the amenities needed to make our stay comfortable. We requested vegan food and had many delicious meals. Brigitte was a conscientious and friendly host throughout our stay. The divemasters were attentive and reliable. Indeed, all the staff were friendly and courteous. We also enjoyed meeting other guests and sharing meals together in communal dining. We went on several dive excursions and also snorkelled the beautiful reef that surrounds the island, with interludes to relax on the shady deck surrounded by fish and small sharks. Most evenings we were treated to the light show of distant lightening, or the stars and milky way unfolding in the night sky. If you're looking for a relaxing, comfortable place to enjoy the beauty of Raja Ampat, I highly recommend Tabari Dive Lodge.
