Staff - very helpful and friendly. Rooms - where to begin. Our first room was more of a store room, holding extra furniture including a full size fridge. The bed was extremely hard and the quilt was the thinnest ever. There was no heating, room was freezing, although they did supply a portable heater when asked. The Room and bathroom were absolutely filthy. There was thick clumps of dust on the head board, dust through the headboard, thick sticky dust on the doors and the bath had appeared not to have been cleaned at all after the last user. It looked as is someone had shaved their head over th bath and walked away. See photos. The toilet seat was also broken, you could swing it from side to side. An accident waiting to happen. The bedside lights also did not work, although they flashed if you moved the light bulbs. We spoke with a very helpful manager, Robert who, after makeing enquiries, arranged for us to move room. This room was bigger and cleaner, although still no heating. We were again given a portable heater. The bathroom was leaking terribly, we needed to keep x 2 towels underneath to soak up the water, wringing them out twice a day. The hot water tap in the sink spat a small amount of water out if it felt like it, otherwise there was nothing, also one of the bedside lights did not work. We stayed for 2 nights, our bed was not made and our tea/coffee facilities were not replaced or cleaned. Day 2 we washed our own cups up using the hot water tap in the sink that did not work :( I know I cannot discuss concerns other guests had but there were others that had lots of problems too. We were informed that the rooms are being refurbished, 2 have been completed. But unless you are guaranteed a new room I would not recommend staying at this hotel. It is a shame because downstairs is refurbished and the staff are amazing.

What a dreadful room. In desperate need of refurbishment. A very saggy mattress, the quilt was the thinnest I’ve ever see, flat pillows, wardrobe door wouldn’t close and was damaged by the steam from the kettle that was beside it. Bathroom had a shower head that didn’t extend into the bath in any way so you had to stand right by the taps to get under the water. Awful looking repair on the bath panel Worst of all the lock on the door to the room looked like it had been forced open by hacking away at the wood. It was not repaired in any way so the room was not secure. Such a shame as the restaurant looks very newly refurbished. Not sure why they bother renting out the rooms as they obviously don’t spend any money or effort in making them comfortable and looking good. Truly dreadful!!!

After arriving late on Friday afternoon myself and my family checked into our rooms, we had 5 in total, and despite all paying the same price mine was twice as small as the others. The layout of the hotel is not very nice as we had to walk through the small restaurant after a long journey with our suitcases whilst people were having their dinners and staff were trying to wait on tables. It was quiet uncomfortable. When I entered the room the smell of bleach was intoxicating and very overwhelming even after having the windows open all day, I had also noticed a lot of hair on the top pillow on my bed. Underneath there was a hair on the second pillow and more hair underneath the duvet as well. I complained about the sheets and the smell, which a member of staff came to the room to inspect and had agreed it was overwhelming and had started to give him a headache after just being in the room for 2 minutes, yet I was expected to sleep in there through the night. I was told they had no other rooms to change to but they could change the sheets. When I came back to my room the sheets they had changed had stains on the pillows. The top of the shower had black mould growing around it, there was a broken light and missing lampshade, and the overhead lampshade was disgusting which resulted in a dead spider being dropped onto the bed. I had asked for my pillows to be changed in the morning and they had not been when I came back at the end of the day. The walls in the bathroom looked terrible, and due to the state and smell of the shower I had to shower in my parents room. My brother's shower fluctuated constantly between hot and cold. My grandad's room had no radiator just a small heater which did nothing to warm up the room after the cleaning staff had left the windows open all day, he also had a broken light in his room. My parent's shower leaked and my sisters room also had problems with the shower. And the wifi did not work the entire trip.

Room was tired and dated, TV didn’t work, wasn’t overly clean. Bathroom was cold with breeze coming in CLOSED window. Water was like warm at best for shower in the morning and couldn’t find a staff member to check out in morning. Very poor stay,

We came here for a quiet lunch to catch up with a friend. From the outside, it is fairly hidden from the main road and unobtrusive. Inside, it was lovely, clean, cosy and welcoming. Spacious tables and attentive staff on hand to take orders. We chose the breaded fish and chips and the lasagne. Portions were generous and delicious. Good quality mince in the lasagne. On clearing our plates, we selected the tiramisu and strawberry cheesecake. Each of these could only be described as light, fluffy and full of flavour. Follow these with delicious espresso and we rolled out the door very satisfied. We will definitely return.

Called to enquire about booking a room for lunch after a family funeral and was given lots of helpful information from Zafer. Called the next day to confirm the booking and again nothing was too much trouble. Went into the hotel to make sure the room booked was suitable for family members with disabilities. Once again Zafer helped us and made sure we were happy with the set up of the room and the menu options. The standard of decoration in the hotel was to a high level, very tasteful, and the chairs are incredibly comfortable. Staff were waiting to greet the bereavemet party when they arrived and showed them to the area we had booked. All the staff attending to us were polite, courteous and nothing at all was too much trouble. The food arrived and was jujst perfect for what we needed, again the waiting staff were extremely helpful. We had a first class experience with all members of staff and would highly recommend this hotel.

The food arrived piping hot everyone had empty plates, we had a few of the cocktails and they went down a treat. At no time were we rushed everything was just great. Arrived on Saturday. Enquired about breakfast the next day only to be told no Breakfast served due to Covid. - Suggested to try a local cafe! By Tuesday following week the room had not been cleaned or replenished and it took several more communications to get it cleaned Trying to get a meal in the Evening was a challenge - Simple question - Can I have a Table for 1 please - was not understood - common theme I am afraid. The Evening Food is extremely good. I stayed here many years ago and whilst the evening food is better the rest has deteriorated somewhat in terms of service etc.

Booked this for our late Mum’s Wake . We booked on 30th May 2022 for 40 covers for lunch . Zafer was very professional, efficient and nothing was too much trouble . Food was superb as was the service . We couldn’t have asked for anything better for our mum . One of the best in our local area - I wouldn’t hesitate to go back . Ideal for any family occasion. Well done Zafer and the team 1st class ! Thank you so much Karen Timoney & family 🙏

A cocktail bar that hasn't heard of a Long Vodka? 1 of the starters had to be returned as it was not hot. Another was not as advertised on the menu. Mains were better. Nice atmosphere and an outdoor seating area that would be nice on a summer evening.
