We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our relaxing stay (despite the rain on 2 of the days). On arrival the owner Des, was very helpful and informative about the local area. He recommended walking up Cat Bells and lent us his map so we could climb it without getting lost - much appreciated. We really enjoyed this...

We were above the boiler that kept firing up every couple of minutes the pipes clanked all night so no sleep was had the carpet felt dirty so I pulled the cabinets forward to find dirt on floor and walls cleaning obviously isn't a high priority we left immediately

We spent 2 enjoyable nights here, very pleased to find plenty of parking spaces ( this can be difficult in Keswick) After a warm welcome, we were shown to our room which was clean and bright, with lovely bed linen and plenty of space, both in the room itself and with wardrobe and drawer space. The bed proved to be very...

My wife and I booked three nights in this guest house to enable me to climb both Skiddaw and Cat Bells. The satnav directed us to the private lane below where we needed to be, but we soon found the blue sign close to the road directing us in. Des met with us and was very informative regarding the recent...

This is a very large B&B, and it was fully booked during our stay. However it still felt intimate and quiet. We booked a 3-person room, which was spacious, light, tastefully decorated, and had a nice view over the garden. Breakfast was good quality. Hosts very welcoming. Facilities were good, if a little unconventional, with sink located in the room...

We stayed there last night after a day in the Keswick sunshine. The hotel is lovely, and easily found 5 minutes from Keswick centre. Greeted by the hostess with a welcoming smile and shown to our lovely room. Clean tidy with fantastic views of skiddaw and latrigg. Taking our Bailey was no bother and he was met on arrival by...

Large guest house, closer to a small hotel really. Our room had good views over the cells. It was spacious and facilities were adequate. Breakfast was also very good (apart from the boiled mushrooms). We would definitely stay here again.

This was a handy stop off on the way back from Scotland. Breakfast good, room was clean. Shower is very small not great if you're 6'4" like me. Would benefit from a more welcoming lounge area to unwind rather than staying in your room. Good pub just down the road. Owners were lovely people

Stayed for a night to attend an event in nearby town and wanted to go to the Keswick market. Lovely and clean inside and out, nice greeting by the gentleman owner. Room was clean and all we needed, only problem was the bed creaked when you moved so woken up a few times! Other than that, nice breakfast and its...

Cumbria is in the process of recovering from severe flooding and roads are closed and visitors are thin on the ground but there was a warm welcome, a cosy comfortable room and a generous tasty breakfast at the Rickerby Grange. Also a charming Christmas show at Theatre by the Lake.
