Old style hotel with modernised rooms, hallways and door frames in need of a refresh. I imagine it was a posh style hotel in its day but a mixed up tired feel about it. Offers a la carte and bar meals, we opted for the bar meal which was tired and not very appetising, It's not hard to make a...

We booked this hotel for one night as it was close to Keswick and dog friendly, which is about the only 2 good things about it. I am sure that once upon a time this hotel was a wonderful and grand place to stay, sadly the grandeur is somewhat faded now. The gardens and lakeside location are lovely though. From...

Dear guest, Thank you for your review, even if I fail to understand some of your comments. I would like to thank you for highlighting the three positives you found about our hotel, being our location, gardens and that we are dog friendly. These are huge positives, but this hotel has much more to offer, such as friendly, professional staff...

The hotel is in a perfect location to visit nearby Keswick (10-15 minute walk) without the Keswick price tag. The staff were friendly enough, and one night-porter in particular was very helpful. The hotel is a bit tired, with repairs noticeable throughout however our room was very clean. The shower was quite weak and leaked a bit, and we had...

In reviewing this hotel I have tried to adopt a balanced approach, it is very relaxing in a brilliant location and the weather for us was lovely so it is a great place to stay, a quick pint in the Farmers Arms down the road shouldn't be missed, the hotel is just a short stroll into Keswick which is a...

We have stayed in these appartments on a number of occasions over the years because we love the location and they are dog friendly. However we will not be back until some money is invested in bringing this accommodation into the 21st century. We tend to favour the same appartment which is certainly spacious and the bed was very comfortable...

When planning to visit the lake district, we definitely wanted to stay close to the lake and this hotel was one of the closest good hotel.Parking space was ample. Rooms were good for the price. We booked for the most basic rooms, bathrooms were really small but functionally good. The garden was the most beautiful part about the hotel, which...

We came here for a relaxing break and that is what we had. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Nice bathroom and shower. Food was good. Loved the garden at the front which led down to the river and the lake - a very peaceful setting. We visited Keswick which we liked and also the local Distillery, producing gin,...

Stayed here for a week with my husband and originally only intended on staying one night. However, the views, room and food were so fantastic we stayed the whole week. A short walk into Keswick village with all its Lake District charm and within easy reach of Carlin and Windermere. A great place regardless of the weather.

Stayed here for a week at the beginning of May. I found it on the Internet and decided to give it a go due to the following reasons.
