I have visited here a few times and have to say it seems to on something of a downward trend. The food is OK, but it is "chain pub" food, rather than "home cooked" and no longer represents the value it once did. You can have better for the same price at any number of pubs in the general vicinity....

I had rung several days ahead to ask what time they opened. I was told 11:30 so I arranged a table booking to meet our friends at 11:30. We arrived 11:30 but the door wasn't opened till 11:35. This would not have been too bad except we were greeted with a very grumpy "bloody hell, you're keen" by the person...

The reason for our stay was to visit friends and family nearby. We were wary at staying at a pub but the accommodation is an annex attachment and is accessible both through the bar and through an outside entrance. The room was large and the bed comfy giving a good nights sleep. The breakfast was vey good. The only negative...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and we are most sorry for the problem with the Fire Alarm. We unfortunately had some guest's smoking in one of the rooms which was discovered the next day. We do hope to see you again though and thanks gain.

The Waterloo Cross is a restaurant that we have visited a number of times over the years but on this visit we immediately appreciated the benefit of the refurbishment that was carried out earlier this year. It is now more airy and more roomy for diners. All new furniture, updated décor and new menus give a greater all round dining...

Good food with varied menu and value for money. Attentive staff. Relaxing atmosphere (low level background music so able to hear each other speaking!). An enjoyable evening to celebrate a family birthday. Definitely coming back. Well done Waterloo Cross.

Seven of us visited the Waterloo Cross pub last evening to celebrate a family members birthday. The pub was full and very busy so it was a good thing that we had booked a table in advance. The staff were extremely helpful, efficient and polite. After taking our drinks order within a few minutes they came to take our food...

Relaxing atmosphere .Attentive staff . Varied menu , suitable for all appetites .. The food came on a very hot plate and was up to expectations . Clean loos . Dogs not allowed in resturant but there is a shady area in the good sized carpark. Dogs could sit by the tables in the outside seating area .
