Chalalan Lodge proved to be an exceptional way to see the Bolivian Amazon (Madidi National Park). I was nervous about the cost per day at first but soon realised that it truly was value for money, as our guide Ivan was absolutely top rate, the surroundings were secluded and alive with the noises of the jungle, and the accommodation was...

We just stayed 4 days in Chalalan. From the welcome at the airport, the professionalism of the guide (Andrès), the food and the service in the lodge, hygiene and cleanliness, and not to forget the location at the lagoon and the ice-cold beer: everything was excellent.

Been there for 3 days, had a perfect experience in the rainforest. Had a great guide (Nelson), super staff and a lot of knowledge-sharing about the flora and fauna of the area. Saw some beautiful animals like eagles, kaimans, spiders and birds. And the top off was a quality accomodation. Higly recommended!

Thank you very much for your recommendation. We are glad that you had the chance to see interesting wildlife and that you have enjoyed your accommodation. We are very proud of the team of guides who, like Nelson, are passionate about their work and share their ample knowledge as natives born in the jungle with our guests.

Let me start to say that we had 24 hours of rain - while normally in the dry season it does not rain more than a couple of hours. So we were not super lucky with the weather - nevertheless this experience is worth all the stars. The surroundings of Chalalan are magnificent - a wonderful lake and a lot...

We are very pleased to have met your expectations. We make every effort to be accurate in presenting such the hostel which is, we understand that it is very annoying that the pictures give an exaggerated picture of what is offered. Chalalan was absolutely the best choice for a tour in the Amazon. After reading reviews of many other companies, I chose Chalalan due to their sustainability approach as well as their commitment to community development and wildlife preservation - which is something that many other companies operating out of Rurrenabaque don't hold up to (they feed and touch the animals)....

Chalalan has 16 years conserving biodiversity within the Madidi National Park and within the indigenous territory of San José de Uchupiamonas, owners of the hostel. In that time it has sought to reduce the environmental impact of this tourism operation avoiding both hunting and feeding of animals or other aggressive practices. We are very grateful that this component of our...

I visited Chalalan Ecolodge in May of 2015. Day 1, started early with us taking a trip up river to the lodge. It takes about 5 hours by canoe, fighting against the current and low water all the way. We are delighted that your experience in Chalalan was successful and lucky, full of observations of animals, adventures and also the cabins have been to your liking. A very important aspect for us is the quality of the guidance, privista by highly qualified naturalist guides who come from San José de Uchupiamonas, the indigenous people that owns the hostel.
