The queens was recommended as we were staying nearby. The pub/restaurant is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Staff polite, friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and well presented, my husband had surf and turf and I had the rump steak both were good. Also serve good G&Ts. I would say prices are mid range and fair for the service and...

Cannot fault this place. Very, very good! Just 2miles off jnc43 of the M6, its a must stop on any journey north/south. Called in on the off-chance that food would be served at 4:30pm on a Thursday evening. It was! We ate at a table in the bar and were served by a very pleasant young lady. Other staff were...

We've been here for lunch a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is always good and the staff are friendly. They allow dogs in the bar area but you may be best booking in advance to ensure you get a table.

Had a lovely meal on Friday night in the new Garden room. Its a spacious room with plenty of room between tables but still nice and warm. Food was well presented and service very good and friendly. Enjoyed the taste of pork main course.

We really enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Queens and can highly recommend the fish and chips. The setting is beautiful, the staff very friendly and welcoming and the service very good. The new extension has been finished to a very high standard and would be a perfect place for a small private celebration. Will definitely return.

Just outside Carlisle, this pub has a big car park and spacious dining areas: it was nice to have a quiet corner. Dinner menu not a lot of choice and emphasized steak, but my chicken risotto was tasty and perfect. The chips are clearly home-made, huge, irregular and old-style good, except the oil they'd been fried in was not brilliant....

Visited for Sunday lunch this week for their Sunday MENU. We were seated in the newly opened extension which was lovely and comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Food was average with beef being explained as very pink but one of the party had a well done portion which was very fatty. Mashed potato on all 3 plates was cold. This...
