Our 4th visit to the chateau. We failed to book the place in either 2014 or 2015, it was already booked. But venturing into France later than we normally would this was an ideal stop on our way back from the Cevennes area. We stayed in the tower and enjoyed the quiet and dark this quirky little building offers. Note...

I booked Chateau de Mairy for a week so I could spend a few nights with 26 of my family and then a separate 4 nights with friends to celebrate my 50th I have never felt so relaxed about being independent whilst at the same time having the fantastic support of all those at the chateau. We cooked for ourselves...

Wonderful trip. It's a good 30 min drive from Epernay so just be aware that there is a drive to the champagne houses. However we didn't care. My boyfriend and I stayed in The Tower which was incredibly romantic and beautiful. Michele our host was wonderful. I couldn't recommend it enough. Very rural so again make sure you're up for...

25 of us recently celebrated my 60th birthday at Chateau de Mairie. The chateau was amazing with blazing log fires and a sit down dinner which Michele (the owner) prepared for us.Nothing was too much trouble and dinner was served with no fuss and cleared away discretely. Although it says on the website that it sleeps 32 be aware that some...

The chateau is beautiful, very authentic, as are the rooms. Being authentic and charming does mean however that you should not expect great comfortable beds or a luxurious bathroom. We also had bugs in the room due to the old windows. The major downside however (besides the bugs...) is the train that runs right behind the venue. If you throw...

I agree with many of the previous reviewers comments. The Château is visually stunning and although remote it does provide great access to explore the Champagne region. We were there for a 50th birthday weekend and had a great time. Our room lacked any working electric points and only offered a bath hence the 3 star score. The weekend was...

we loved this Chateau and its hosts. A hedgehog greeted us at the gate, we had a big comfy bed and enjoyed the incredible architecture and decor! If you are into sleek, glitzy, commercial finishes - this is not for you! this gem is a gracious old girl with stories to tell! Our hosts greeted us with chilled Champagne and...

We rented the whole property for my 50th birthday and it couldn't have been better! The chateau itself is the epitome of 'shabby chic' in a good way. Of course, in a property of this age there's the odd slightly tired edge, but it would be simply wrong if it was pristine- just don't expect it to look and feel...

A delightful place to stay for groups and couples. A classic building with lots of history. The meals provided by Michelle were outstanding and became the highlight of the stay. Be aware of the proximity of the railway line if you are a light sleeper and the occasional mosquito.

Stunning first views as come up gravelled drive. Beautiful shabby chic chateau in convenient location for travelling round champagne region. Hosts Michele and Frans are delightful and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome (and over fed!), and they have a great wine cellar to go with dinner. Rooms are huge and stunning with good views over the gardens....
