Islay has only a few hotels and it seemed we were lucky to get a room here with 2 separate beds. The Hotel is in the middle of the isle near a junction to all major directions, so you get all the spots within 30-40min driving. We arrived quite late after we came from Oban with the ferry. The day...

Thank you for such a lovely review. After a great summer and a fairly benign autumn we have had some fairly brisk weather in November. This does have a charm of its own when one is settled down by the fire eating a platter of Scottish cheeses and polishing off a bottle of wine (or maybe a dram or two)....

As I wanted a central location for this year's Feis Ile, we once again booked a stay at this marvelous hotel. Our 9 days couldn't have been more relaxing - our room was spacious and warmly appointed. Lorna and her staff make every effort to make their guests feel comfortable - there's always a warming fire in the lounge and...

I am so glad that you enjoyed the Feis and look forward to seeing you back at Bridgend. The one point I would make to anyone reading this review is that we are starting to get quite full in May next year (I write on 19th Nov) so please don't dither too much over making a booking if you want...

The people are friendly and looking out for your comfort. They go out of their way to make it the best stay you will ever experience. Food, room and atmosphere are the best. Lorna makes you feel like family. I would go back in a minute! I cannot think of enough nice things to say about my stay here! It...

Thank you so much for this lovely review. I'm not sure that I can add any more except to say how much Lorna enjoyed having you to stay and we hope you'll be back.

We were nicely received and shown to our room by a very pleasant lady. After refreshing in our room we went down for dinner. We were invited to sit in the lounge and look at the menu. Once chosen we were taken to the dinning room which has a lovely view over a charming garden. Our stay was just perfect.

Lorna and staff welcome you personally like friends and are very pleasingly accommodating. Bridgend is a large home with ample rooms, fantastic king beds, a comfortable lounge, pub room and large dining room with a beautiful garden adjoining. Food and drink selections are generous and very good. It is centrally located on the island for trips to all eight distilleries,...

Sometimes the reviewers sum up what we are trying to achieve much better than we can. Thank you for this lovely review, I am really glad you enjoyed your time at Bridgend Hotel and I don’t think we could have written our aims and values as succinctly as you have.

The Bridgend hotel is without doubt the best hotel i have stayed at for friendliness and genuine hospitality. The manager, Laura was a star and all the staff were genuinely happy to be of service and cheerful. The accommodation was truly comfortable, homely rather than sumptuous, but absolutely spotless, neat and comfy. The warmth of the people in the area...

Thank you for this wonderful review – Lorna takes great pride in Bridgend Hotel – as do all the staff – so it is lovely to be complimented in such a way. We are only a 3 star Hotel – just in case anyone expects all the 5 star extras – but we do try to be the best we...

This hotel is well situated for sightseeing on Islay. First impressions are of a traditional building, tastefully refurbished. We were welcomed by Lorna and shown to a and comfortable bedroom. All extras were there including Islay Tablet. Dinner and Breakfast were excellent with good choices of local produce. Overall an excellent Hotel, thanks to Lorna and her very friendly and...

Nice well maintained older B&B with a good management team and staff that have kept it up nicely. We had a nice king size bed ( unusual on our trip ) and slept well ( except it was a bit warm as the room was right over the kitchen and did not cool down even with the window open... :(...

This is a lovely review, thank you. Without wishing to detract from the welcome praise, I would point out that we’re a Hotel and therefore offer dinner as well as bed and breakfast. We’re also licensed and stock whiskies from all the island’s distilleries as well as wines & beers. Having an over-warm room on Islay is not something that...

Once again had a super welcome and a most enjoyable evening in this lovely restaurant. The food was good, the chef could have raised his standards a tiny bit higher. Thank you for this review. I am a bit disappointed to hear that the chef could have been better – we have really worked on the food this year and have a great team in the kitchen. I hope that this was an intermittent slip up and we’ll try to maintain the highest standards. It’s nice of you to say...

For anyone visiting the Isle of Islay it is surprising how the shape of the island and the road network mean it can take a long drive to get from one part of the island to another.
