Oh how I wish we had more time to stay at Lanercost Bed and Breakfast. This is a true gem of a B&B. The beds were heavenly, the bathrooms large and well appointed, and the breakfast was marvelous. We were welcomed by lovely Muttley and his owner on a chilly evening and immediately warmed up with tea and fresh scones....

Lanercost B&B was the highlight of our Hadrian's Wall walk. After visiting the beautiful Priory, we walked around neighbouring lanes, sat by the fire in the lounge room as evening set in, and sat down to a memorable dinner cooked by Christina. The next morning's breakfast was delicious, and set us up for a day of hiking. Definitely worth a...

the Lanercost B&B is the epitome of a country stay The rooms are comfortable, the hosts are charming and hospitable, and the food and wine are excellent. The setting is beautiful, with the priory next door, a river nearby, and an excellent section of Hadrians Wall to boot, but even without all that this place would be a gem. AND...

The B&B is in a lovely situation right next to Lanercost Priory. We had a huge room with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The owner was super, very friendly with lots of very interesting conversation. We had dinner round a communal table with four other people also staying overnight and we had a terrific...

Stayed here as part of the Hadrian's Walk and the B&B was booked for us by the trip organiser. The bedrooms were comfortable although would have preferred teabags rather than messing about with loose tea in the room. Our hosts were very attentive during dinner and breakfast which you take sitting at a big table with other guests but not...

Hi Wendy, Thank you very much for your review, we are pleased that you liked your bedroom. Tea bags, freshly ground decaffeinated coffee and fruit teas are available on request though the vast majority of our guests comment on the quality of the speciality leaf teas and freshly ground coffee and homemade biscuits we offer in the rooms. I love...

A little off the Wall trail, but well worth the detour. Bob and Christine were excellent hosts. The building itself is historic and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. And the evening meal that Christine prepared was delicious. And bob's full English breakfast hit the spot too. The b&b is right next to the old Priory and church that are...

I stayed here with my granddaughter whilst walking along Hadrian's Wall. The setting is very beautiful and the Priory worth exploring as there are some original William Morris works there. We had a very comfortable room with a bathroom of our own - beautifully appointed . It was wonderful to soak in a bath after a long day's walk and...

My friend and I booked a two night stay at the lanercost b&b as we were participating in a 23mile charity trek along Hadrian's wall. Bob & Christine were perfect hosts. Warm, friendly & couldn't do enough for us. Our room was set as a twin and was spacious. The ensuite was also large & everything was spotless. We had...

We stayed at Lanercost at the end of our 10 day trip through Scotland and back south through England. We picked it based on its location near Hadrian's wall, the excellent reviews and since it was on the way to Newcastle. What a find!! The home is in a beautiful country setting and was lovely and comfortable. We were kindly...

My wife and I, along with four adult family members, stayed an evening at Lanercost B&B midway through our walk along Hadrian's Wall! A half-mile from the path, it was a wonderful respite run by a husband/wife with backgrounds running large hotels in Scotland. Robert serves as your host; he is simultaneously professional and entertaining with a story a minute...
