We visited The Rising Sun the Saturday before Christmas for a meal and rather than having the set Christmas menu had meals from the usual menu. We have visited on a number of occasions and noted that the usual faces serving weren't there, so appears there has been a change of manager/staff. We were served by a very pleasant young...

I would like to say a big thank you to Gill and the team during our recent short break. We really enjoyed the amazing views from the hotel, the walks up Cleeve Hill with even more amazing views at the top. The rooms were fine. Gill's welcoming smile and knowledge of the local area were excellent . Breakfast was good...

This hotel has a good location to start your visit of the Coswolts. The hotel needs refreshing but has everything you need. The food in the restaurant is ok but nothing more. Great parking place and a great view from the garden. On a sunny day great to have a drink in the garden.

No table service, meals came out with long waiting times, steaks very poor, we pre booked and still meals came out very late. Given discount but would have rather had good food and service. Bar staff very blunt and rude and was told not to order drinks from bar ?

Sorry to read you did not have a great experience when you dined with us on Christmas eve, all of our parties receive full table service rather than you having to wait to be served at the bar. I have noted your comments regarding your steaks with our supplier to help us ensure only the best quality products on our...

I have stayed here and dined here before so it was good to see excellent standards being upheld. We were here for dinner on a very busy Saturday evening just before Christmas. Notwithstanding this the service was appropriate and helpful. Quite a nice menu, I had the pie (which had been "off" at my last visit.) A good selection of...

This pub is great to relax, nice staff busy on a Monday night. But no waiting times on food. It's really nice to see a pub doing really pub food. Also that is not the same as everywhere else. I had duck breast, was cooked well and well seasoned. We had a two children with us they enjoyed it to.

The hotel rooms could do with a bit of a refurb. the wifi is pretty poor, but these are a couple of negatives of which I am not a fan. The staff are friendly and super helpful, the location for the races is perfect and the views are amazing, Cheltenham is very beautiful and I will return!
