As someone who knows this area of Cyprus very well and stay in some of Limassol’s top 5* hotels each year, we were delighted to stumble across Meleni Cottages, a real gem of a place only minutes from Limassol’s luxury Amathusa area.

As we had ourselves and 5 grown up children with partners, it was not the year for staying the Four Seasons! So we searched the area and as we know Pareklissia village well (Melis is the best taverna on the island), we took a chance and booked a few rooms at Meleni Cottages. We were met by Eleni and Petrou the owners, who we saw working hard every day to prepare the rooms for new guests and cleaning the grounds and the pool.

During our stay, which went without a problem, we were given warm, freshly made cakes and fresh fruit from the owners. The aircon, shower, beds, etc all work well and the traditional look was so nice. Our grown up family enjoyed the pool everyday and relaxing in the sunbeds and seating area.

If you are looking for good value and close to all that Limassol has to offer, why not do what we did and risk something a little different. The price saving is worth the 10 minute drive and you might be smitten with it as we are.

Sad to leave, but we will be back in October!!

Ray

The most quaint traditional Cypriot home we’ve stayed in. Better than a lot of the hotels around. Petro and Eleni could not do enough for us and our boys aged 9 & 5 loved the pool. The village itself is lovely and some great taverns in walking distance for local dinners.

A lovely stay at Meleni Cottage Houses. This is the second time we've stayed here as we love the location and the rooms are very comfortable. You can request a breakfast, which is always very good. There's also the option to pre-book dinner. We did this one evening and everything was excellent. Really friendly hosts, lovely rooms and a beautiful part of Cyprus. Handy location too as the village is only a short drive from Limassol.

Would strongly recommend that anybody booking the cottages check the cancellation policy. We paid a thousand Euros deposit but had to cancel due illness. We were told that there is no refund policy but we could rebook alternative dates. However when we went to rebook we were told it had to be winter dates only! When I requested why this was I was given some cock and bull story that our room was available for us but we didn’t turn up despite an email being sent advising the cancellation. After threatening legal action I was then advised we could rebook in the Summer months for 50% of the market price using our deposit as part payment. Have since taken further advice on this and was told Meleni should have provided a written cancellation policy which I requested but was ignored. Real pity as we love supporting local businesses and experiencing local culture but feel really let down by Meleni Cottages and would suggest anyone booking should obtain their cancellation policy in advance.

Dirty and extremely noisy room with old fridge and AC. The pics in the web are misleading as the room was smaller than it appears in the site. On top, the owners were disrespectful. Awful place and very disappointing experience when you are on vacation

We made a booking on 12 October for 12 to 16 October from another place in Cyprus.Only a few hours later we arrived and have not checked in because of what we saw. There was a busy traffic road just lsngs the pool and the immediate area was neglected. The pictures on Booking.com did not match the image. We have contacted the owner directly to be able to cancel. Booking.com engaged to mediate. If necessary, we wanted to pay for the first night to compensate. Neither gave at home. We lost all our money.
After our trip, we approached Meleni Cottage Houses and Booking.com again to reach a mutually acceptable solution. The owner hides behind Booking.com and Booking.com hides behind the owner.
It was not cheap and we now feel used and cheated. Top crowds in October in Cyprus . This property may have caught double.Be warned about Meleni Cottage Houses and Booking.com

We stayed in Meleni Cottage Houses overnight but we are definitely coming back there in summer for a longer stay. The village of Perekklisia is only a few kilometres away from Limassol with its beaches and shopping and everything one may need. At the same time, unlike Limassol, it is very quiet and is excellent for a relaxing holiday.
The room we chose was in a 1901 building with 5-meter ceilings, a fireplace, and a kitchenette. The furniture was very stylish, somewhat vintage. The bed was comfy. The only disadvantage of this spacious room was that it took quite long to warm it up with both AC and the fireplace. However, in hot Cyprus summer it is going to be an excellent hideout as it will be very cool inside.
Our hosts Petros and Eleni were hospitable and welcoming and prepared a very delicious home-made breakfast for us.
I look forward to summer and a longer stay in this excellent property.

We stayed a week at the Meleni Cottage Houses. We were surprised to find accommodation like this in Parekklisia itself as it's not a very big place, but this was exactly what we needed.
This establishment is something between a self-catering apartment and a bed and breakfast. There's no restaurant or bar on site, or even a reception, but the owners visit every day and there are basic facilities in the rooms. Some of the rooms open out onto a lovely pool while others enjoy an aromatic garden and patio area. We found it nice to sit outside some evenings, or even mornings, as it was so peaceful and quiet.
Our room was more like a suite. There were two bedrooms (we only used one) and an adjoining sitting room and kitchen on open plan. The finishings were all traditional stone and plaster which gave a lovely rustic feel. There was AC in all rooms. There were only two minor criticisms of this room. First, the TV was mounted in such a way that there was nowhere to sit to watch it. However as there was no satellite TV all channels were local Cypriot channels and we didn't watch. Second the floor of the room above creaked quite a lot when the guests upstairs moved around. This wasn't a major problem as everyone was out and about most of the time. It appeared that our room, room 4, was the only one with an upper storey.
Overall I'd describe this as a "boutique" self-catering establishment. Quiet, peaceful, quaint and bucolic.

I have stayed at Meleni Cottage Houses at the end of April 2017 for three days (wish it could be longer stay). In general it was great experience and very pleasant time i spent at Meleni Cottage Houses. The place itself is very nice, there is garden and pool area, very nice decorated with everything you need to enjoy sunny days. The room was absolutely like on the pictures, very cosy with everything you need for comfortable stay including kitchen, all domestic aplliances etc. Place is located not in the city center and you will need a car to get there, but it is about your choice - to stay in the city or prefer more calm place with picturesque views. The special "thank you" i want to say to the hosts, Eleni and Petros, who are amazing hosts and people. It's a big luck to meet such people as they did everything to make sure my stay is comfortable and I have everything I need. Thank you so much for your hospitality and I hope to see you again!

The rooms are completely new, well made, with a beautiful blend of tradition and style. The swimming-pool is clean and well-maintained. The kitchen is fully equipped. The owners are a local family who are friendly and welcoming without becoming intrusive. Near the Houses there are some restaurants, cafes and taverns, as well as a supermarket. We will definitely go back.
