We were in the area visiting family and popped into the Crown Inn without a booking. The dining room was fully booked but that wasn't an issue as there was scope to eat elsewhere on the property and as we hadn't planned ahead and wasn't bothered about where we ate, we had our roast in the bar. Dining room looked...

We had a voucher and, to be honest, this wasn't our first choice. However, Trip Advisor contributors had given first choice dreadful reviews so we had a change of plan and came to The Crown. It is a wonderful local pub with great food, friendly staff and lovely comfortable rooms. We only had a one night stay but loved it....

Lovely Inn in a beautiful area & only 1 mile from Offas Dyke. Booked in at 4pm as asked & were given room 3. The room was sympathetic to the age of the building , it had a huge bed & a large window with the countryside view, it had tea/coffee tray with superb biscuits. The en-suite was small but...

Just on our was back from a 2 night stay - and I cannot recommend this place highly enough! The hotel has a lovely homely feel, and the staff are amazingly friendly - the whole place is full of charm and warmth. The accommodation itself is clean and comfortable. Our room had a very large bed, TV + DVD player,...

A really attractive place, full of character inside. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The Chef is amazing, providing generous portions of quality food, cooked to perfection, on order. A selection of real ales is available on draft in the bar. Fully deserving of its several awards from Trip Advisor and Bookings.com.

This break away was a gift from our children. As requested we arrived after 4.00pm. Place was in a bit of turmoil as they were having some electrical work done, but we were made to feel very welcome. Lyn took us to our room, We had room 2, a really nice size room, very clean, light and airy. En suite...

My husband bought me this 'night away' as a gift through Argos. It was easy to book and even at that stage the staff were lovely and helpful. It really is 'in the country' but the staff do everything to help with free wifi and emergency telephone numbers (although we did have a mobile signal). We had dinner in the...

Enjoyed our 2 night stay, food is very good the chef is excellent. Even with a power failure she came up with a superb breakfast of scrambled eggs & smoked salmon. Rooms comfortable and spacious. A good quality pub with great accommodation in a beautiful part of England - nearly in Wales.

Not inexpensive, but good value for the money. Rooms were clean, quiet, staff considerate and friendly, but with a massive breakfast, making the short walk to Offa's Dike through the gorgeous countryside necessary. Enjoyed our stay, and would return again.

We visited the Crown Inn some years ago and as we were going to the same area again we revisited. It has changed hands a couple of times but is still a good base for walkers. Our room was clean and comfortable but the carpet was very badly stained mainly due to a recent wine spillage, apparently. I am afraid...
