We were there in October, which is not the high season, so we were given a choice of several rooms. We chose one that overlooked the ocean. We had lots of room, two beds and a nice bathroom. The staff was helpful and let me look at many rooms, before I picked what we wanted. This is a golfers paradise...

We ate there as a part of a CIE tour. Lunch was from a fixed menu. It was very good with a great dessert. The view of the water from the restaurant was Beautiful. I looked at the regular menu and it looked like a wonderful place to eat seafood. There was a live lobster tank in the lobby. The...

Stayed here for two nights recently. What a wonderful setting and really nice food. However there were drawbacks. Our twin room although having an excellent sea view , was tiny. Decor was dated and curtains were held up with safety pins. Bathroom walls showed signs of damp and almost impossible to swing a dat there I imagine! Waited nearly an...

The staff service was impeccable. So impressed with having help carrying our bags to our room. The room was large and clean and the views just blew us away! The food cooked to very high standard and equivalent to Michelin star award. This Inn is definitely going places. The chef proprietor Henry who is obviously very talented has taken the...

The location is impressive and the staff were very helpful. However, the hotel is very tired, dated and overpriced when compared to other places we stayed at on our tour. The rooms were clean, but the one I stayed in had a very poor and dated bathroom and I probably have to go back to the 70's for when I...

Thank you for your review of Smugglers Inn. Apologies that your TV was showing in black and white, it probably just needed adjusting, but in any event these will be replaced when the rooms are modernised and updated and plans are now being made for this to happen in the near future.

This has become an annual pilgrimage for us. Well worth the hour's flight from Manchester and then the two and a half hour's drive from Cork Airport. This place is so idyllic, and my favourite part of the trip is when we eventually get our bags upstairs and then get down into the bar for a well-earned drink. The staff...

This review is for the restaurant only, not for the hotel. Dinner without a reservation several evenings ago. Food was wonderful (try the baked cod!), and service was on point. Portions were on the large side, and everything was tasty and hot. Glad we chose Smuggler's Inn. The food -- and the views out to sea -- were worth the...

We dined here on a Saturday night and the restaurant was very busy , the staff were totally in control and we did't have to wait for any of our courses, the food was delicious ...... especially the seafood . Definitely worth a visit.

Thank you for your review and visiting The Smugglers Inn Restaurant. Glad that you enjoyed the seafood (our speciality) - doesn't get any better when its fresh from the Atlantic just outside our door. Hope you will visit us again some time.

My Wife, our two children and myself booked a family room for 4 nights in The Smugglers Inn prior to leaving for our annual trip to Paris. We travelled from County Tyrone, some 385 miles away and undertook a particularly long scenic drive to our destination. Upon arrival, we were hastily checked in and provided with several instructions regarding how...

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay and decided to leave after one night. The Smugglers Inn is renowned for their warm hospitality so we are surprised that you say you were hastily checked-in and did not find the service friendly and welcoming. Most children find the lobsters in the tank fascinating and we ask if they...

You probablt shouldn't visit the Smuggler's Inn on a Friday night if you don't like children. We dined here on both a Friday and a Saturday evening and that was like night and day. Absolutely packed on the Friday and rather quiet on the Saturday. Didn't matter for the food though as the quality was equally high on both occasions....

Thank you for visiting The Smugglers Inn. I hope anyone reading this is not put off visiting us on a Friday night because there were a lot of children on the Friday you visited - every day is different and now that summer holidays are over and the children are back at school then no doubt it will be quieter....
