We were part of a walking group and enjoyed our stay at the Caherleigh House. It was centrally located and our host was very welcoming, serving us scones and tea/coffee after a day of walking. The fire drew us all into the sitting room to relax and talk about our day. Also, the breakfasts had choices (we do not eat... More

We stayed 2 nights and were very well looked after. Short walk to local pubs. Very accommodating, rooms comfortable, breakfast sumptuous . The laundry was in close proximity. Host was very friendly and helpful. Ryan's from Australia

From the moment I arrived (as part of a hiking tour group) I felt so comfortable and welcome. Dermot Dooley ushered us in and within minutes, we were in the sitting room eating freshly-baked buttered scones and tea in front of a turf fire. Pure heaven! Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, and there are lots of towels in the... More

We were traveling with part of an organized hiking group so my experience may be a bit different than the independent traveler. Also we are from the U.S. and in many travels to the EU there are some things that seem common to many older hotels/B&B's across the continent that apply here. We had room 8 on the second floor... Yes this an nice place to stay and extremely friendly.. however the beds are basic and not that comfortable..the shower had no soap tray and the rubbish and dirty area outside our bedroom window was horrible...why don't they cop on and clean it up and not destroy a nice business...

Such a great place for couples and families to stay that are driving the wild Atlantic way or just visiting the Burren. Lisdoonvarna is a gorgeous town, a must see and Caherleigh House is the perfect place to stay.

My wife taught a landscape painting workshop based in Lisdoonvarna, so I decided to join here and cycle while she taught during the day. Most of her students stayed at the McNeils Fabulous B&B in town, but she filled the entire place! We stayed very nearby at Caherleigh House. The Irish Breakfast (cooked fresh) was excellent, and also offered fresh... More

I've been here for only one day but it's been my favourite place to stay south-west Ireland. I wished I had stayed at Caherleigh House some more days. The house is clean, cozy and comfortable. Living room with fireplace is really lovely. Mr Dooley is the perfect host, welcoming and helpfull, but also discreet. "Thank you Mr Dooley for helping... More

Dermot is the perfect host. On arrival, he said, "come in and sit by the fire", he then produced a tray of hot tea, scones and biscuits! He is a warm and genuine soul with the gift of Irish hospitality. The room was spacious and clean, and the guest house is situated on the edge of town, so it is... More

I've just stayed at Caherleigh as part of a Wildlife Travel group and Dermot Dooley, the 'landlord', couldn't have been more helpful or more welcoming. He was constantly available to us, made us feel extremely welcome, and serves up a great breakfast and afternoon tea. He is also well-known and well-liked by other business owners in Lisdoonvarna and was a... More
