We stayed here for 2 nights and Ellen was a wonderful hostess who was full of information about the area and things to do. It is an ideal place to explore the Beara Way and Ellen will give a lot of advice about the Way. Make sure that you explore the garden, where you will find a lot of exotic,...

After reading all the fab reviews we booked this B&B for 2 nights. Good Points - quiet location and lovely gardens about 2kms outside the town. Chatty hostess. Very Clean. Safe parking. Bad Points - very small rooms and even smaller en-suites. One had to step back into the bedroom to dry. There were no facilities in the room, no...

What a nice B&B, situated in a beautiful Garden and a astonishing view. The rooms were very nice. Our host, lady Ellen was very helpfull, lovely and interesting. Never ate such nice crêpes with fresh fruits and yoghurt! We will rate this B&B with a 10!

This is a must visit if you get into the depth of West Cork. If Ava is on duty you can be guaranteed the best breakfast experience you'll ever have. The full Irish is always fresh to order with local produce.

I was stuck for accommodation after the original place I'd booked in Castletownbere turned out to be a dud. I contacted Rodeen and warmed instantly to Ellen when she said she had a single room available and to come over straightaway and she'd make me a cuppa. I stayed four days and found Ellen a terrific, warm and very helpful...

when we were about 10 minutes from Castletownbere, I called to ask if there were any vacancies and was told that there were two other people asking so who arrives first will get the only room available". The lady at the phone was quite rude but I thought I would try anyway as it was pretty late and, there were...

My son and I stayed here for 2 nights just last month. Enjoyed our stay very much. We felt very comfortable there. We felt welcome and our room was clean and the beds comfortable. I often don't rest well when in a strange bed but I felt safe and rested great. It was like staying at a friends house. We...

When my husband, myself and our friends arrived at Rodeen County House we were greeted by Ellen, the proprietress, a lovely and direct Irish lady. We fell in love with Ellen, the views, the garden and the food during our stay. Our room was comfortable and cozy and the house was inviting but the garden was stunning offering a great...

My husband and I find the Beara Peninsula with it's stunningly beautiful "Ring of Beara" a "must see" on a visit to Southwest Cork. We found a little gem of a place tucked away in a subtropical garden called Rodeen Country House the owner, Ellen Gowen is charming, welcoming and the finest cook we have found in Ireland. The home...

On arrival I was given tea and sat in the lovely quiet gardens with distant sea views. The guest lounge was pleasant with a small TV. The location is handy for the town but a car is needed. There is plenty of off road parking. The room was very small, no wardrobe, no TV and a very small bathroom. Breakfast...
