Where to start? Staying four nights at Bantry House was the highlight of our 2+ weeks in Ireland. Living like a lord (an early, actually) was a unique experience. This 47 room mansion, dating from the mid-1700s has been in the same family for ten generations. While the house itself is less than pristine (it’s a lot to keep up),...

I tell you the best bit about staying here is when all the visitors leave for the day and you get the property to yourselves. B&b guests have access to the library with a roaring fire, 18th century piano and a honesty bar! We had a family room which was beautifully renovated and very comfortable. For dinner we walked down...

Passing through Bantry on a lengthy road trip I decided it would be interesting to stay at Bantry House - a place I associated with house tours and classical music concerts. The gate for the B/B section is cunningly concealed at the town side of the estate so it took an effort to find my way in. As I circled...

Great location overlooking the Bay and it's worth climbing the steps in the garden for the complete setting. As a resident, private and quiet access to the grounds after all the visitors had left. Although the rear gardens had fallen into disrepair, it seemed that there were plans to re-establish the planting and we just caught glimpses of the Wisteria...

Bantry House and gardens are superbly situated having fine views of the Bay, and being easily found as adjacent to the N71, and a great opportunity to stay in a stately home, but early booking is advisable (I booked last December, but only one night was available). My Wife and I enjoyed our stay in the spacious, well furnished and...

Comfortable B&B. Outdated rooms and bathrooms. The venue was lovely, but the house and grounds have fallen to disrepair. That being said, the stay was comfortable and the breakfasts fantastic. Do take the tour of the hone and walk up the '100 stairs' if the garden for a stunning view. It is not really 100 stairs. We wish the White...

Entering through the carved stone arch of Bantry house one is transported back in time to a more gracious world. Emerging from the tree lined drive one is struck by the stately magnificent of the mansion and the elegance of the manicured gardens. It is fascinating to tour with the owner, Bridget as she explains the history of the manor...

If I could go back in time and stay longer at Bantry House I would. We only stayed one night but all of the hours spent there were precious and to be remembered. It's really one of the big highlights of Ireland for us. First of all the house is magnificent and historic full of paintings and antiques. We took...

As you drive back through a narrow road with vegetation on both sides, the road opens up around a bend and you see this place in the distance. First impressions were that is was very cool...and a little creepy. As you enter the building, both continued to be true. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Room and bed was comfortable. Breakfast...

We stayed two nights in this wonderful stately home, welcomed by the charming owner Sophie. The bedroom was delightfully furnished with top quality beds, linen and furnishings. Faultless! The breakfast was generous and freshly cooked to order. Having the use of the Library in the evenings with it's grand piano (my husband is a pianist!) and log fires was a...
