We stayed just the one night while down hiking Carrauntoohil. The rooms were spotless and plenty of space. The nice hot shower was just what was needed for our group.
Delia suggested eating in Bunkers in town and it was only a 10 min walk. When we got back later we were able to sit in the lounge and have a wee beer or coffee and relax.
The breakfast in the Grove was fantastic and filled me from the day till lunch.
Everyone we delt with was lovley and even other guests remarked the same.

We travel a lot and Grove Lodge ranks among the top. Warm welcome. To avoid steps we requested a ground floor room and we were pleased to be given a room opening onto our own patio. Excellent breakfast. Helpful information for days out. We stayed for four nights and would certainly return.

We stayed here for two nights with our two years old daughter last week. Our little girl absolutely loved the entire house, the lovely host Delia and their dog Oscar, so did we! The house is so beautifully designed inside and outside, located right by the river. Our room was so cute and quiet with the river view from our window. The owners are kind and they make sure you enjoy your stay! They also have such a good taste to decorate the house in a lively, vibrant way. See the pictures attached. The breakfast was very fresh and included various local products. Delia was very helpful and friendly during our entire stay. I would totally stay there again if we visit this part of Ireland again!

Extremely friendly and welcoming and an excellent breakfast.
As soon as we stepped through the door Fergus made us feel at home. The family couldn't have done more for us, offering to book somewhere for supper, suggesting places to go and people to speak to. The rooms were comfortable (although sound travelled through the floor so I woke whenever the upstairs room used their bathroom).
Nice touch to have a well stocked kitchen area for guests to make tea and coffee.
A great location for exploring the beautiful areas both north and south of Killorglin.

A beautiful B & B. Located on the river, with a beautiful view of the area. Comfortable and clean. Owners very friendly, happy to help. Very good breakfast included in the price. If you're traveling in Ring of Kerry, get here.

We stayed at Grove Lodge in 6/05. These duplexes are very modern. The furniture downstairs was top notch. The kitchen and breakfast nook were well furnished. The living room was beautiful really with a huge L shaped couch and modern lamps. It was refreshing to open the sliding glass doors onto the balcony. Sorry about arborcide, but I just wish they would chop down one tree. That would enable great views over the river to the mountains, which were barely visible. Upstairs is where it all went wrong for them in their planning. Two of the three restrooms upstairs had shower stalls, while the third had the small jacuzzi. Why that would be off the room with the twin beds is beyond me. The second bedroom had a full bed, the mattress of which was barely adequate. The master bedroom, with the Queen size bed had a terrible wafer thin mattress. Ouch. The little balcony overlooking the river was nice though. Fixing the mattress situations alone would greatly help. I don't see how they could now switch the jacuzzi though. It's a shame really, because the place was in a very convenient area to Killorglin, while being about a 15 minute drive to Killarney.

We have stayed in the Trident grove lodge apartments a couple of times a year for the past 6 years - as the location is handy when I visit home. The view is beautiful and the layout of the apartments/houses are great. However - a few issues to share - the pinergy electricity costs are ridiculous- I'm just back from a 3 day visit and I had to pay 30euro for the electricity so expect 60euro excess for a week. Added to the rental costs makes this accommodation in the same cost bracket as 4 or 5 star accommodation - whereas the accommodation feels more like 3star.
Also, the one we were just in needed painting and the bathroom fittings were gone rusty. The showers were v poor quality. So general refurb required.
There was no bottle opener when we settled into having a glass of wine on the first night!
FYI I gave similar feedback to Trident who manage already and I got no response which was disappointing seeing as we are regular visitors.
Also as a local I can confirm walking into town is lethal and i usually avoid as I have a young son so rather not take the risk! it's only 10mins but dark and cars drive v fast on that Road!

We spent four days with Delia and Fergus in May, 2016 - wonderful hosts. The view of the gardens and river from our first floor room was beautiful. Their breakfasts were the best that we had during our travels. Rooms are somewhat dated, but are very clean, comfortable, and a good size. Easy walk to town centre and good pubs.

Beautiful guest house. It's a little further away from Killorglin, but the walking distance is not bad. The only issue is that if you walk back in the dark there is no sidewalk and you're walking through a very dark road... it was a bit scary I have to admit. Breakfast was good, facilities were great...I'd definitely come back! I also think Killorglin is a perfectly cute little town for an overnight stopover. We had our best meal in Ireland there (recommended by the staff of the Grove Lodge).

The Grove Lodge is hands down the most beautiful place we have stayed on our trip. I would honestly come all the way back to Ireland just to spend a few days here. The rooms were clean and cozy with a beautiful view of the river and mountains. Breakfast was spectacular and they do all of their own baking on the premises. The spread was unlike anything we've seen at other B&B's. Fergus and Delia were great hosts and took the time to talk to everyone individually about their upcoming travel day giving helpful tips and tricks about where to go. Killlorglin had a surprisingly great dining scene and some really neat local pubs as well.

Good morning -in answer to your question-yes it would probably take about 15 minutes depending on your walking pace. However it would be along a long straight and largely, unlit road. Car is much easier or taxi. Again it's your decision but the place is a wonderful guest house with charming hosts and great breakfasts. Above all I found it great value for money and a perfect place to tour the area. Cheers, Andy
