Given that we stayed here three times and everything has been exceptional there is not a whole lot more we can say This time Tommy told us about the "very best" Irish spuds and as usual did not lead us astray Try Kerry Pinks. Steam don't boil or microwave. Delicious. And of course Link his dog was her usual well...

We stated at the Coastguard Station for two weeks and were delighted. This stunning location along the Lower Sky Road looks over Clifden Bay from a high bluff. The views of the bay and out to the Atlantic to the west are unequaled. The accommodations have all of the amenities for an overnight or an extended stay - including laundry...

The Coast Guard station makes a great place to make your homebase as you explore the Connemara area. The apartments were huge! Tons of space to spread out and relax when not staring at the unbelievable views out the windows. The apartment had everything you would need to fix your own meals plus has washer and dryer on-site. The peat...

Amazing place to relax and take in the Irish countryside. Tommy is a great host and was very helpful. The town of Clifden is charming and offers all you need to enjoy a vacation. There are many great sites to visit nearby and you can't beat taking in the views at the house. Would highly recommend.

I have been coming to Clifden for years and I must say The Coastguard Station was the best accommodation I have stayed in. With the welcome from Tommy (and his dog 'Link') to the homely, comfortable apartment to the breath-taking view from the window, I cannot recommend this place enough. The station itself is located about a 25 minute walk...

My family and I stayed here four nights. The proprietor, Tommy, was welcoming and helpful in every respect. He helped with the communication with Aer Lingus over lost luggage. The place itself is not fancy, but very comfortable and homelike which was perfect for us and really more relaxing than a hotel (although of course you must deal with shops...

On a recent self-guided tour of Ireland with two friends in mid-September through early October 2014, I stayed again at Tommy Whelan’s Coastguard Station on the Lower Sky Road just outside the lovely town of Clifden in County Galway. This 10 day stay was my second visit to the Coastguard Station; my family rented the Officer’s House in May &...

We loved staying at this self-catered apartment. It really is an impressive location--sited right on the coastline with amazing views. What makes this place so nice is that it has everything you would need. Laundry facilities are on-site. Wi-fi was quickly hooked up when we arrived. Tommy gave us his cell phone number in case we needed anything --after he...

After a fabulous stay here last year we returned for a week again this year. It wasn't as good as we remembered; it was far better! Link the dog was super friendly as usual and everyone wants to take her home. Tommy told us some new stories about the area that we hadn't heard as well as giving more tips...

We stayed for 8 nights in the middle of August. Can't really add much more to other reviews-breathtaking views, very handy for Clifden, everything you need is in the apartments, and Tommy is a great host, very knowledgeable and helpful. One more plus that may not have been mentioned is the lack of noise from other apartments. The walls between...
