Reviewed 3 weeks ago Coatesland House was our favorite of all the B&Bs we stayed in. It felt like home - we wish we had booked more than one night. The house and rooms are well decorated, spacious (for Europe), and very comfortable. Breakfast and the breakfast area was...More
Reviewed 15 March 2018 via mobile My mother and I spent one night here and it was lovely! Florence was so kind, welcoming and entertaining! As Texans she had lots of old stories to share with us (back in the 60s she came to America for work)! It was wonderful! She...More
Reviewed 11 November 2017 Arriving at Coatesland House we were warmly greeted by Florence Hogan, and it just kept getting better. Florence, Kristina and Kathy were exceptional... a delightful 7 day stay. The best part of our Irish Holiday!

Reviewed 2 November 2017 The village of Adare is lovely and so is the welcome at Coatesland House. It is a fairly long walk to town but this is what a B&B is all about...a comfortable room (although you may want to turn down the heat) and a wonderful...More

Why do you write such post event justifications in response to my second review?
You know I complained about the noise, cold shower, & cold room when I moved temporarily to what you subsequently call your old bedroom/office?
Another student stayed in that room before while I occupied the better room upstairs if you recall?
As for breakfast, I supplied & made my own breakfasts, you did offer me porridge when it was leftover from your other guests. You never had to get up to make breakfast for me. Indeed, I cleaned up dog poo & wee from the kitchen & utility room when I was up before you...
I get an accommodation allowance paid for my the local education board, not social welfare, and it did not cover the money we agreed I would pay you to stay 5 nights a week, ie €20 per night without breakfast etc. That’s €15 discount on your normal single night charge. Considering the length of the booking, it was a fair price for both of us for the upstairs room.
Again, I volunteered to move onto the downstairs room to help you with an over booking. You said it was temporary. I tried to help you in return for the value deal I got initially.
I replaced bulbs etc inside & out, even got coal & logs in to save you the trouble...
Like I said, eaten bread, soon forgotten...
We agreed I would stay until I completed my course. It suited your business plan too. You didn’t mention you were helping me out because I was stuck or that it was only for the winter. You knew how long I was planning on staying...
Anyway, I regret you are not the person you pretend to be...
I will miss Winne mostly. :( 21 February 2018|
