I spent a night in O'Donovans Hotel, towards the end of August. If you are looking for a modern hotel, this is not the place for you. but if you are looking for a small local hotel, which still has the atmosphere and character of a small Irish town hotel, as it would have been 50yrs or so ago, then... This is a family owned and operated hotel in the main street of this wonderful little Irish town. Full of character and memorabilia from the local area. The rooms were pleasant but dated and a little tired. The breakfast was a no frills but wholesome affair, and the evening meals were again home style cooking using local products. The highlight... Clonakilty is a town with much to explore and attract. Unfortunately, my pre-arranged stay was far to short. However I was pleased to have chosen O'Donovan's Hotel, and can recommend it highly despite my short sojourn there. O'Donovan's is ideally situated in the town centre and I was unaware of any traffic noise. Check-in was efficient, rapid and friendly. At... More

Really enjoyed our visit here due to the history and that there was lots to do. The hotel is a busy spot, with food and entertainment in the main bar and Irish nights in the old pub located to the rear down the laneway. Would recommend to overseas visitors looking for Irish music entertainment, which was superb! Staff in hotel... More

I stayed for four days and enjoyed every minute. It's a wonderful hotel with excellent, caring staff, clean and comfortable rooms and a convenient location. I have stayed in lots of hotels over the years and I have to say I was never as well treated as I was by the brilliant Vladimir and his lovely colleagues. There was nothing... More

When I booked this hotel, I was extended the invite of attending their “disco”. I was not particularly interested as I had another function to attend that evening and additionally had a lot of travelling to do the next day. Upon returning to the hotel at approximately 1:30am I was greeted by what I can only describe as a festivity... More

Hello Eva, thanks for taking the time to review your stay. I alerted you to the fact that we are a busy town center hotel with a night club in the middle of Summer season in the emails to allow you the chance to change / cancel your booking should you so wish. The fact that the disco music ran... More

Traveling solo in the off season, the friendly staff made me feel very welcome. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely kitted out with tea kettles and other amenities. The Front Bar was quiet at times, then lively with music and locals. Right in the middle of downtown Clonakilty, easy walk to all the other pubs and restaurants in town.... More

Friendly warm, gracious staff who were really helpful with our genealogical hunt for O'Donovans in Bandon, the staff here would do anything to help you and this reflects the culture of Clonakilty, such a charming, clean and beautiful town.

Stayed for a day spending most of that time just walking around the hotel as my cycling gear was wet from the rain. Perfectly located hotel just walking distance from the busy streets full of pubs, shops and everything you might need. Hotel is a bit old but interior is set that way that you can't really refurbish without loosing... More

Hi Folks, Stayed here on Sunday 10th July, for one night only. The double rooms with breakfast were charged at 100 euro. There is parking to the rear, but on arriving late, we parked on the main high st outside. We were met by a very friendly and interactive receptionist, who was full of the craic. The rooms were very... More
