We chose this hotel as my partner came here as a child and loved it. Our room was huge, bathroom was dated. The hotel itself was clean etc and you can see they are working on doing it up. We had dinner in the hotel and was tasty and quite a good price for a 3 course dinner. In

I am just off of the phone with an employee from the Great Northern Hotel, who was in no way friendly, accommodating or helpful whatso ever! In fact, his tone of voice and lack of empathy led me to approach trip advisor which I never usually do. We are to attend a Tommy Fleming

Thank you kindly for taking the time to give us your feedback, and for your lovely comments about our hotel. We are blessed with a beautiful location. I am saddened to hear you received bad service in our bar. We have strict rules on mobile phone usage during working hours, and I am disappointed to hear that certain members of our bar personnel are flaunting these rules. I am organising a meeting to address this issue. Customer Care and Service are the corn stone of our industry and something we take very seriously. Please accept my sincere apologies for this lapse. All offending members of staff will be monitored and spoken to and appropriate action taken to address and rectify the problem. Kind Regards Karen Mc Eniff Management Team

Hi Lillian Thank you for taking the time to ask a question. I am deeply sorry that you felt the hotel was cold. The hotel dates back to 1894 and from time to time we do have to pump up the heating as we are so close to the sea. In saying this we always try our upmost in keeping the hotel warm and homely, unfortunately we did not achieve this when you stayed. We are currently carrying out some refurbishments with in some sections of the hotel and this may have caused some parts of the building to lack heat. Lillian, I would be thankful if you could contact me directly 071 98 41204 Once again I am sorry that we did not meet our warm and homely policy. P.s Lillian & Patrick thank you for your kind words about our staff, I will make sure and pass on the message. Regards Brian McEniff
