The view from the hotel makes the hotel. Staff including the bar man Eddie and the receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Room was very hot at night but cold during day. The tap water wasn't very hot nor was the shower in the evening but it was a better temperature in the morning. The beds were comfortable and had...

Spent 4 days over the Easter holidays here with family. As usual we had a wonderful time. Since returning home to N.Ireland 10+ years ago I try to come to Great Northern several times each year. I love the location(view),accommodations, food and last, but certainly not least, the staff. The hotel was extremely busy at Easter with a lot of young...

The location for the Great Northern Hotel is magnificent - just on the coast looking at the Atlantic. Our room was spacious, modern, clean and well-appointed. We had dinner and breakfast as part of a very large touring group and both were fine - standard hotel fare. Service for both was friendly and efficient. There is a leisure centre but...

Two good points excellent position on coast, and friendly staff. The hotel is very tired, rusty bath, no chain on plug, grouting dirty, quite a bit of dust around, peeling wallpaper, and the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep on,The evening meal left a lot to be desired and likewise the breakfast , Very disappointing not 4 star

Checked into the Great Northern Hotel back in February for the "Fr Ted Comedy Weekend" let's just say it was not as advertised and totally disappointing from start to finish. We felt that the hotel jumped on the Fr Ted Comedy Weekend bandwagon to sell a package weekend deal, however when the show (both nights) was a disaster, the hotel...

Came yesterday and while the outside of the building is in such a picturesque backdrop the interior felt dated and dark. we decided to get some bar food and we're plesently surprised, the blt was delicious however my partner found the lemon cheesecake bland and heavy. Prices were reasonable and staff very friendly and courteous.

Such a beautiful location with amazing views but the hotel itself is quite dated in parts and not of a very high standard. It claims to be a 4 star but its well below that. Rooms need updating and good clean especially under the beds as dust was obviously thick under them. Breakfast basic and bar food well below par....

The decor was reminiscent of my Grandmothers home as was the food. Everything is quite plush if dated but personally I liked this charm. Very comfortable, warm and welcoming. Food is served in incredible quantities which you are not likely to finish. Food is basic, no fancy sauces or chief expression, just honest home cooking. We were on a set...

The Great Northern feels like it has become our home this last 2 weeks. They hosted our daughter and her new husbands wedding last Saturday. Karen, Lee and staff were the out of this world. Nothing was a bother. Food exceptional and of course the views that only the Northern can give. Highly recommended

Only just back home from an enjoyable 2 day stay. First impression was "wow" when I seen the beautiful white hotel on top of cliffs surrounded by a large golf course. Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who efficiently checked us in and made us feel welcome. Our deal included breakfast and 4 course evening...
