The good points to this hotel was that the bedrooms have been spruced up, good wifi, the bar is noce, good views and my TV had Netflix. The staff were also nice. On the down side, the hotel is generally very tired looking and a bit depressing. I don't think it was worth £80 for

We stayed at the Great Northern in October..a perfect time to visit with nice weather and few travelers. This hotel is charming and has a lot of character and is huge. Our room was on the ocean side with a nice breeze coming in through the windows. It was a large room with a

I regularly stop off at the Great Northern when travelling up and down Ireland's west coast. It's an easy location for dropping off and the fresh winds on the nearby cliff-tops will keep the lungs going for days on end. My light lunch couldn't be faulted.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to give us your feedback, and for your lovely comments about our hotel. We are blessed with a beautiful location. I am saddened to hear you received bad service in our bar. We have strict rules on mobile phone usage during working hours, and I am disappointed to hear that certain members of our bar personnel are flaunting these rules. I am organising a meeting to address this issue. Customer Care and Service are the corn stone of our industry and something we take very seriously. Please accept my sincere apologies for this lapse. All offending members of staff will be monitored and spoken to and appropriate action taken to address and rectify the problem. Kind Regards Karen Mc Eniff Management Team

Hi Lillian Thank you for taking the time to ask a question. I am deeply sorry that you felt the hotel was cold. The hotel dates back to 1894 and from time to time we do have to pump up the heating as we are so close to the sea. In saying this we always try our upmost in keeping the hotel warm and homely, unfortunately we did not achieve this when you stayed. We are currently carrying out some refurbishments with in some sections of the hotel and this may have caused some parts of the building to lack heat. Lillian, I would be thankful if you could contact me directly 071 98 41204 Once again I am sorry that we did not meet our warm and homely policy. P.s Lillian & Patrick thank you for your kind words about our staff, I will make sure and pass on the message. Regards Brian McEniff
