We stayed here the bank holiday weekend for 4 nights, we didnt relaise there was a folk festival this weekend so it was an added bonus for us and kids were also allowed at fesitval so we all had a great time - It was busy at this time when people would arrive back from festival but quiet down very quick once people got settle and into bed.

Ballyshannon is a lovely town and we were also in driving distance of bundoran and many other seanic sites we got to visit in Donegal.
Thank Adrienne H

Nice location. Grumpy reception. Possibly the noisiest camp site I have ever stayed at. Ok there was a folk festival on but kids screaming at beyond midnight, people speaking at full volume until 2 am. Best avoided!

To this so called sensible traveler, who prefers to remain anonymous, yes it was Folk Festival weekend, yes it was Bank Holiday Weekend, and yes the site was very busy. If this person looks carefully at our other previous reviews he will see the site is highly thought of. Knowing it was the Bank Holiday weekend and the Folk Festival weekend he/she should not have stayed.

Recently enjoyed a stay here with a small group of friends/family. We had four tents together and had a good spot beside the lake with plenty of space. We enjoyed use of picnic area, play park and pitch for games and had breakfast at restaurant which was good. It was good to have restaurant on site for when weather wasn't the best. Only complaints would be: toilet/shower facilities could do with being cleaned/tidied up more regularly, and there wasn't any hot water one evening for cleaning dishes.

Thank you for the review. I apologise for the lack of hot water, the electric trip had gone on the water heater and it was not reported. With regards to the toilets they are cleaned twice a day. We do understand that people can be very careless and we do try to keep on top of it. Your comments have been duly noted. regards Mungo

Stayed at the campsite for one night it is a nice place, it has all the basic need for a campsite. There is a small play ground for kids and the astro turf for the big kids.
There is all a restaurant on site.
Thank John B

I visited this site in July 2018, Arrived on the site in the evening, met by the manager and he was verypolite and helpful with advice on where to visit in the area without being too long winded. The site is right next to the reservoir with wonderful views and nice level pitches about a 10 min walk into Ballycastle. Showers & WIFI are included in the price. The campsite is kept very well and I saw staff cleaning the area and toilets throughout the day. Excellent kids playground located in the corner of the site which kept the kids entertained for hours. We also ate in the restaraunt on site, which was excellent and the staff wonderful. The manager lives on site makes sure the site goes quiet after 11:30 pm at night which is great as the site can be busy. Only bad point is that the pitches are perhaps a little short for any motorhomes over 20 feet long, so just ring the campsite before visiting if it is any longer than that so they can confirm if they can accomodate you.
