Accomodation is excellent. The soudproofing between rooms is a bit iffy, we could hear the tv from next door. Food Is superb. Th service however is a bit slow. I had to ask for toast at breakfast time 4 times, and had to ask for coffee 3 times. Apart from that minor issue i would recomend this hotel for anyone...

This is a great hotel lovely rooms and nice breakfast and well stocked bar. Great location. Not to far for a lovely walk into Ballina along the River Moy. Eniscrone by the sea is a short drive away as are the golf courses of Ballina and Eniscrone. Great fishing too. My sister and her family live here now and every...

Nichola and John run a wonderful operation. They put their professional, personal touch on all aspects of the operation. For any golfer, you would enjoy this place! Very helpful and knowledgeable of the golf (and other options) in the area. Our group has stayed here for years! We visit Ireland every year--staying at The Downhill Inn is a MUST!

I've been staying in Ireland for about 3 months now and The Downhill Inn was by far the best place I've stayed (out of several). Nicola and John, who own the inn, were so accommodating and generous. The inn is warm and inviting--good atmosphere, with both a restaurant and a bar that have great drinks and food for better prices...

My friend, my boyfriend, and I spent a long weekend in Ballina and chose to stay at the Downhill Inn. Because the trip was largely planned by my friend, who traces some family history back to the area, I had few expectations, all of which were exceeded by the Downhill Inn. It is a charming, lovely place situated a short...

We arrived on a coach trip from Glasgow with David Urquart's Tours. The journey to Ballina was excruciatingly long, nearly 12 hours, however, we arrived at the Downhill at 8.30pm on the Friday night absolutely exhausted. The management and staff at the Downhlll Inn were waiting for us as made us so welcome. Booking in was fast and efficient and...

We recently stayed at the Downhill Inn for a long weekend break to Ballina. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed to the hotel and promptly checked in and given directions to our room. The didn't appear to be a lift, which didn't affect us but would be an issue for those with mobility problems. The room was OK, the...
