We visited this hotel having been bought a "garden lunch" as a present. The programme included Coffee/Tea on arrival; a two course lunch; a talk from a lady who was Country Life Gardener of the Year; and a conducted tour of the wallled garden. The staff were very welcoming and helpful; the lunch was absolutely delicious; and the talk was...

My partner and I have visited Swinton Park several times before and have always enjoyed each visit but this last visit was the most perfect as it was the day my partner proposed. We stayed in the Bolton Castle room which is gorgeous and very spacious. The bathroom has been upgraded since the photos on the website, which is now...

combined an overnight gourmet break with a lovely Garden Lunch event for a great 24 hrs. Highlights were the staff, charming and informal in what could otherwise be a slightly intimidating setting-it is a very grand place-and the food. The cooking was excellent throughout our stay, imaginative and accomplished using many ingredients grown in their hugely productive and completely off...

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoyed your stay. It's lovely for our staff to hear how their hard work is appreciated. Your comments about the music system have been passed onto our management team. Upgrades to the audio visual equipment in the rooms are planned, but I'm sure you can appreciate that...

We recently spent a night at this hotel for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Bolton Castle room which was beautifully decorated, large with an enormous bathroom. The only fault we had with the room, if you can call it a fault, was the TV. It was on the small size but the hotel has said they are in...

Thank you for taking the time to share you thoughts on your recent stay. I'm glad you enjoyed the hote, groundsl and our cuisine, but sorry to hear you did not feel dinner was sufficiently filling. I think you will find our style of dining and portion sizes are in line with most hotels and fine dining restaurants at our...

If you love food. Love cooking. Love making new friends, and love being entertained at the same time....pop along to Stephen Bulmer's Chef's Table at the Swinton Park Cookery School for an evening you will never forget. It's hard to explain what happens. Suffice to say you will want to tell all your friends, and return to go through it...

My husband and I were treated to a champagne afternoon tea here by family. It was quite simply the best afternoon tea experience we have ever had! The surroundings, staff and food were all first class and we can't wait for our next visit to Swinton Park!

I was booked into this hotel for two nights by the company I was visiting, who have negotiated a good rate for weeknight stays. First impressions were positive, starting with the drive through the main gate (!) friendly reception, shown up to room - which was huge, the bathroom alone was bigger than most hotel rooms I stay in! Room...

We are fans of Swinton Park Hotel BUT please bring back the old reception area. The new reception underneath the turret resembles an old fashioned football turnstile. This "improvement" is a step backwards. Obviously the owners want to free up the "morning room" for more profit. Afternoon Tea on the terrace is non existent unless they mean the grassy "knoll"....

We visited the hotel for a two night break and having checked it out on the internet to research the facilities we wondered what it would be like to stay in a hotel so much steeped in history.
