Went for a night away with my boyfriend Hotel looks lovely from the outside with beautiful gardens round the back Room was very dated but it worked well to give character We suspected the hotel was haunted and believe it or not my boyfriend claimed to have seen a ghost lady in the night floating up the stairs wearing a...

Stayed here for one night on 11th Feb. Lovely quaint hotel only 5 mins walk away from the main centre of Ripon. Bedroom was tastfully decorated and all the reviews about cold rooms were unfounded as our room was cosy and lovely and warm. My only negative was that we had a "Champion" snorer in the room next door to...

A single night stop over only, A charming building brimmed with character, some TLC required in area's but did not detract from the first rate service received at reception who took care of our bags and wheelchair as we had arrived a little. Staff couldn't do enough to please no matter what. An excellent selection of both light and traditional...

A grand old Victorian building, in need on a little TLC it can be said but what a lovely place to stay. We were presented with good old fashioned values by the staff, nothing and I mean nothing was too much trouble whether it be asking for milk for tea in our room or dinner at the hotel or breakfast...

We decided to stay here after it came up on trip advisor. We'd read it was old and a little run down. It certainly is. It's a very grand building and would have been beautiful in its day. However it's it desperate need of a make over. The windows are old wooden and single glazed. They let the heat out...

I needed a place to stay whilst on business in North Yorkshire. Never being a fan of the large branded hotels (within my budget), I usually try to seek out something independent and happened across the Ripon Hotel and Spa. Booking direct from website was effortless. I'm not a fussy person when I have to stop away from home, but...

We stayed for two nights, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Having read previous reviews, there are many redeeming features. Lovely rooms, all clean and fresh, friendly and helpful staff. Food was very pleasant both at the Bistro and breakfast. I would be very happy to stay there again. Thank you.

Let's start with the good points. This hotel is well situated in the town, offers loads of free parking and free wifi. The staff are charming. Our room was quiet and adequate, if you don't count the first one in which the heating didn't work! We were given another which was warm. The beds are comfortable but the man made...
