First of all, I like this place. So much so, when I knew we would be in the area again, I booked without a second thought. But three years after our first visit, I was disappointed after such a good experience last time. Perhaps it was the choice of room we had this time which wasn’t as nice as last...

We had a lovely dinner at The Royal Oak - the food was fresh, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. If you are ever in Ripon, you'll get a good meal at The Royal Oak. Bert & Sue T. CT, USA

Spent a night at the Royal Oak on our travels around the UK. Comfortable pub, great bed, good staff. Excellent D,B&B deal. Had lunch here as well. Kitchen knows what it is doing. Great fish & chips, beef, breakfast... Plenty to see in and around Ripon. Don't miss the 9pm hornblower.

The room had a window overlooking the shops and street. The room was lovely, well maintained with feature fire place, beautiful furniture and a...

The most incredible fish and chips and gammon and eggs. Better than Blackpool. Better than wetherby whaler (and we really like that). Better than most places. Yummmmmmmmmm. Lovely peeps too polite. Helped you when you needed it. Left you alone when you didn't. And they were busy!!

Great location in the centre of town and close to other bars and restaurants and shops. A bit of work is required to locate the car park at the rear and very...

Set in the heart of the town the location of the hotel was brilliant. Just a couple of minutes walk to the Cathedral. Breakfast was really good. I am not a great lover of black pudding but they said it was home made and it really was the best that I have ever had and I would be prepared to...
