i checked in the night as the review of rtw traveller2009 , firstly our room was good value for money and the service of the staff and the couple who run it was brilliant. the man who wrote the review was asked to leave and rightly so, the manner the man spoke to the staff and the manager was disgusting...

The D of W was planned to be the base for a walking holiday for five pensioner friends. It started badly even before we had been handed the key as we had to guess which breakfasts we would want for the coming five days and pay for them up front. Within half an hour we had seen our dreadful room,...

Love this place. Stayed one night as a birthday treat with the better half. Lovely B and B. Most comfortable bed EVER!! Lovely and cosy. Great Hosts at the pub. We had a light snack before we went out for the day, which was delicious. Lovely beer too! We didn't stay for breakfast as it was on a little too...

Room 4 is a converted outbuilding with all you need for a one night stay, its too small for any longer as there is no wardrobe etc. The Shower is all on the small side but so long as your not obese you should be ok. The bed is soft but I slept soundly no problem at all. The pub...

place was very dusty and dirty upon arrival didn't feel the staff were friendly, small room and bathroom, shower was not powerful and bath looked grubby, hair on the floor when we arrived and stains on carpet. no Wi-Fi even though it was advertised and also breakfast is not included in the price and is very expensive.

A one night stay booked by my sister as a surprise birthday trip. I had a double room with a small bathroom with a shower over bath. The little courtyard was lovely, had the weather been kinder we would of sat out in it. The rooms are in converted out buildings. My back wall was at least 2ft thick so...

Polite & friendly staff. Our room was tiny & not very comfortable. The mattress was the worst we have ever had to sleep on, only about 2" with springs poking through. The bathroom was less than clean, the sink absolutely stank of sewerage having had no cleaner/bleach poured down for years! The only way to fill the kettle the inside...

I stayed here for one night with my partner. Very friendly staff. Food was lovely. Cheap drinks. Rooms are separate from the pub/ little apartments which was great and there lovely. Your welcome to take your drinks up to your room which is fab! Only down fall, advertised as a greeneking pub, went to use my staff discount to be...

Basic accommodation, that was value for money and kept clean. The twin room had a tiny bathroom but with us working away from home did the job. Adjacent to a friendly pub, which served a good value breakfast. The hill down into Matlock town centre was very, very steep. We walked down and got a taxi back later.

We called in at the Duke of Wellington to meet up with family who we hadn't seen for some years. The place is clean with plenty of space, the landlady was pleasant and helpful. After a few rounds of drinks we decided to have food, the menu is traditional British with a good selection. One of the group chose wreak...
