Beautifully presented suite, ( with a tub for 2 which I loved) in a stunning location. Literally 2 minutes walk into the centre of Bakewell. Fabulous big bed, lovely clean bathroom and kitchenette. Just grand. Big TV and DVD player a bonus but we didn't use them. Ideal for an overnight treat which is what we were doing, but better...

We arrived for our stay early in the day but were welcomed to check in straight away. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was beautiful. Very clean, spacious and a lovely bathroom too. The location was ideal as it was just a short walk into town. The staff were even helpful enough to give us a jump...

This place is very overpriced and the service is terrible. We stayed over the New Year period and accept that prices will be higher at that time. Unfortunately the people running the hotel felt that because it was New Year they could avoid providing a basic service for their guests such as making the bed each day. In line with...

Such a shame this guest was unable to fully appreciate the room with its panoramic views across the town, the valley below and the surrounding hills, and then the double ended bath in the bedroom, the separate bathroom and the kitchenette, etc etc True I had given my staff a well-earned break by allowing them to leave at noon on...

It's not for me & husband...the place / accommodation is fine..but definitely room n board standard. Very noisy later am with late drinkers...I am sure it works for others...not us. I would not have it on my go to list....but did what it said on the tin

At exactly the same time as staying with us Colette has visited the Peacock in Bakewell for lunch and dinner, Colette has given them a bad review on the basis that a pub doesn't welcome drinkers!? The Peacock has a food offer which is second to none and can be claimed as a gastro-pub. An extensive menu, plus specials available...

We recently stayed at Bagshaw Hall, Mirabeau Suite. I note from others that check in was an issue, but not for us this process was fine. We were shown to our room, which has great views and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We decided to have breakfast in the breakfast room, this was a rather strange affair, we weren't...

Brilliant, to have such praise of our Mirabeau Suite, which is situated on the first floor of Bagshaw Hall with panoramic views of Bakewell through 3 tall windows, with an additional tall window in the bathroom with a large double ended bath in front of the window - this is 5 star luxury! This guest was also very comfortable with...

I've read some of the former reviews and I guess this is down to individual preference; if you want a modern looking hotel with a buffet restaurant then Travelodge or Premier Inn is your best bet. Personally, I relished staying in a 400 year old listed building overlooking Bakewell. My room (Volare) was beautiful, my bathroom was the best I've...

Having read a few reviews and the unusual request that we book breakfast 24 hours in advance meant we were a little sceptical considering the cost. However, overall we were not disappointed. We were met in the small car park and taken to the Mirabeau Suite which has a lovely view across the valley. The bedroom is well decorated and...

We arrived at about 7.30pm to check in and were shown to our room, the Mirabeau suite - others have uploaded pictures of this room, it's a very pretty room with a plush white bed and two person bathtub. The biggest issue I noticed from the get go was the bathroom. Don't get me wrong, it's beautifully decorated. I just...

First of all this long winded person should read the review posted after theirs titled "Beautiful Grade II Listed Building" which clarifies things perfectly. The bathroom wall detail, the clue is in the term "Grade II Star Listed Building" - The reasoning being that the highly decorated ceiling and plaster cornices, which are 350 years old, are protected and therefore...

This is not a hotel but not really a traditional bed and breakfast either. Bagshaw Hall is prominently situated above the town of Bakewell and just a short downhill stroll to the town centre. We stayed in the main house which has a number of very large rooms which are somewhat dated (it is an old hall). There is car...

We stayed last weekend for 2 nights in the Chatsworth Penthouse Suite. The room was great with plenty of space, a comfortable large bed, separate shower/toilet and a large bath in an area of the main room. A nice touch. Some previous reviews have complained about cleanliness but we didn't see any problems. The facilities in the room are perfect,...
