Popped here for a drink on a saturday afternoon BIG MISTAKE there were about 12 local people in and 80% were swearing for england i ordered a bitter and a large rose wine(the wine costing £4.50),the bitter was ok but my partner said to me ..have a sip of my wine...it tasted like cranberry juice,the same as what my partner... This is a really friendly pub where the manager and locals will chat away It is pleasant and the beers and drinks are good They will send out for a takeaway and McDonalds is near by for breakfast The rooms are clean and basic Its terrific value for money

Booked here through laterooms.com but quite disappointed by the standard of accommodation. Booked a twin room for my daughter and myself,but then told there wasn't a twin available, which wasn't too much of an inconvenience,but it was what we paid to have. I didnt stay here although I wouldnt want to we sat down to our 3 course meal starter was soup or soup, which when it came was 3 spoons full, minus any type of bread or croutons. My partner and I booked a two night break here, whilst visiting relatives. When we arrived, we were shown upstairs by the bar tender. He seemed friendly and helpful enough. Our welcome was very good and, although the inn was in the process of being renovated, the room was clean and functional. All requests were attended to promptly and with smiles. My 3 weeks stay at the Apollo was just what was needed and more. The tastefully decorated room was ideal. The room being attended to on a daily basis. would highly reccomened as i found this on the internet by chance and loved every minute of it , warm freindly people and nothing is too much bother , i was on a training coarse for four weeks plus i stayed for a private visit , just great people and im going to visit again
