We originally booked one week but extended to 2 weeks when we arrived. 30 seconds from the cottage to the sea :) The food is delicious and fresh, Steak for me every day, Fruits and Eggs for breakfast :)

This review is long overdue. I used to live in Kenya for almost six years and I have travelled the country. I have been to literally every place at the coast between Diani and Lamu. Nothing compares to Che Shale! Let me start with that feeling when you get out of the car, put your feet into the sand, get...

After living in Uganda for 12 years and having visited the Kenyan coast and Zanzibar on several occasions I finally made it to Che Shale and WOW, I wish I had discovered the spot years ago. It is a truly unique place, completely beautiful in all respects. It has maintained a peaceful serenity unlike anywhere else I have visited, it...

This is a place you can get away from all noise and hustle and bustle. The internet is so and so but works, there is no TV that I noticed, the lights and charging is by solar panels, and the shower kind of salty...but you know what, it is amazing! This is the medicine needed to really relax. The beaches...

Pristine location - almost to good to be true; very far from the average 'resort'; fantastic concept of no doors or windows anywhere(!) - yet you feel totally safe; extremely friendly and welcoming atmosphere throughout; many very high class activities - big game fishing, reef snorkeling, kite surf school. Good restaurant from African standards. Only drawbacks stem from the no...

We only went there for dinner and it was undoubtedly worth the 30 min bumpy car ride. Amazing seafood! As fresh and delicious as you would expect (but unfortunately do not always find) at the coast. Great and friendly service. Simply a must visit place.

This is a wonderfully isolated property on Kenya's North coast. It takes about 3 to 4 hrs from Mombasa, the last stretch on a coconut husk covered dirt road towards the beach. While accommodation is simple, the beach is first rate and the food top notch. Justin, the owner, farms crabs and his cook must have been inspired by his...

It was a brief visit, but if you love beach life (and the beach has to be pristine and, possibly, not crowded), you may want to check this place out. Everything seems to be geared towards your winding down and relaxing. The pace of life slows down to a lower gear here. The food served at the restaurant is savoury...

Just returned from our annual stay at Che Shale and it just gets better and better. Fantastic location on a long white sandy beach. We stayed in the deluxe bandas which are thoughtfully designed, quiet and private. Fabulous and plentiful food - the soft-shell crab is an absolute must - yumyum! Thanks Justin, Isabelle and team, we are planning our...

We went for a long weekend to get away from the bustle of nairobi. It was a short transfer from malindi airport which the team at che shale sorted for us. The beach is pristine, the food was great and the team were lovely. The accommodation is unique and have the feel of a well built, luxurious grass beach hut....
