This is super secluded beach front hotel and restaurant, food is superb, service is also very nice and the family run hotel is composed of small bungalows. We only went for the day but surely with the amazing vista's, and cumfy loungers and sofas this is really a place to retreat to and see life pass by. Kite-surfing school right...

Che Shale is a great homely place where you take your flip flops off and hang out barefoot from start until end. All you need is a kikoy and you will be hanging out on the swinging lounge beds sipping a cocktail watching the kids swimming and having fun. Isabelle and Justin are very accommodating and helpful and willing to...

Did not stay here, but had lunch here and it was a pleasant experience. It is definitely a place to get to if you want to have delicious food in peaceful and lovely surroundings. It was also an experience to visit the bathroom which is literally on sand....!

Having lived in Kenya for 10 years I'm FURIOUS that I hadn't discovered Che Shale sooner! What an absolute gem. Tucked far away from the touristy package-deal hangouts (but only a short drive from Malindi airport) it is the most fabulous place to get away from it all and relax in peace. I went with my 2 small children and...

Stayed at this lazy relaxing hideout for 4 days and couldn't recommend it more. Beautifully run, exceptional staff, super friendly owners, immaculate beach, rustic escape with the added fun of kite surfing thrown in. Only advice would be to give the kite surfing a go if you come here for more than three days. Expensive, but worth it. Looking forward...

We absolutely loved our stay here - it was a BIG surprise for my boyfriends birthday and after living in Kenya forever 6 years he'd never seen a beach or a 'hotel' like it. I say hotel loosely as its more like a romantic hideaway, we stayed in one of the luxury bandas and the staff couldn't do enough. They...

We didn't stay the night as the generator was turned off at 12 midnight but would have liked to. Spent quite a few hours there and it was really laid back. Great food and a beaut beach to walk along. Looking forward to returning when the power is connected - soon we are told.

There are not enough superlatives to describe this amazing place. Owned and run by the warm and welcoming Justin and Isabelle, it is quite simply a perfect place to escape and chill on a pristine, white sanded and secluded beach. And yet it is only 40 mins from Malindi airport. The Bandas are beautifully done and extremely comfortable. The food...

I loved this place. Its so relaxed, simple and low key. The rooms and main areas are built using local materials, set on the beach, and it has great character and style. The waiters were really kind and helpful and the food was great. The owner made a much appreciated effort to see us in the evening during dinner and...
