Great place, very friendly manager who could not do enough to be helpful. Really clean, warm ( it needs to be on the north coast), good kitchen and common room...but the scenery....WOW.... Im proud to call it home

This was a lovely old building with high ceilings and big windows beautifully done up by the owners, in a gob-smacking location overlooking a sandy beach. About 6 miles outside Coleraine. A well-kitted out kitchen (pick up some fresh coffee from Spar - they have a filter cofee machine here). A dining room with some nice pottery on show, and...

Downhill Hostel stands out for all the right reasons. It doesn't market itself as luxurious and it's not, if you were to make comparisions. However William and his team merits gold stars for understanding the concept of providing it's guests with a memorable and different type of holiday experience. The house itself, is captivating to say the least, overlooking a...

Superb facilities, excellent location and a warm, friendly atmosphere. This place is amazing! Credit to William and McCall, they have created a real gem here. Easily the best hostel I've stayed in and the location right on the beach is perfect. Myself and 3 friends stayed for 4 nights at the end of June 2012, we all cannot recommend Downhill...

Good sized and furnished bedroom, ours had double bed and en suite bathroom with a great shower. The host is a very friendly and helpful guy. We...

This is literally the coolest hostel I've ever stayed at. At least two of the rooms have big windows that look down right on a beautiful beach. In most parts of the world, you would have to pay for an overpriced hotel room to get this kind of view. Great host, clean everything. Well worth driving a little out of...

Hostels can vary wildly - from the (frankly) disgusting - through mediocre - to pleasant. Occasionaly one finds a gem - and this one is - clean, well -equipped, hot showers (often sadly lacking) and friendly. Chuck in a fabulous situation and wonderful hosts and you wonder why you would stay anywhere but a hostel. If only they were all...

We stayed for a couple of nights and wished we'd booked for longer. A lovely location right on the beach, where the kids could run around and play for hours. We sat in bed in the morning and watched the waves roll in while we ate our breakfast. William the owner has created a beautiful, peaceful place, filled with ceramic...
