The Downshire never fails to disappoint. The food and service are both top notch. There is a good choice on the menu and the portion sizes are very generous. I would highly recommend the steak! My only suggestion would be the addition or rotation of more vegetarian options on the menu.

Visited on the Easter Bank Holiday with family for lunch. Have been a good few times before and always been impressed. Restaurant was busy and had a lovely atmosphere. All of the staff were very pleasant while taking food and drinks orders. I had the chicken carbonara and the others had roast dinners and a sandwich. Everyone was very happy...

Great friendly atmosphere, good food and service. Made to feel very welcome, Had not eaten in the Downshire Arms for a few years, glad I returned. Reasonably priced for the portion sizes.Considering it was only 2days after New Years eve, the restaurant was very busy, which says a lot.

My wife and I were back in Banbridge to visit friends over New Year. In my view there was only one place to stay, which was the Downshire Hotel. It has everything you need in a central location. Great food, bar, restaurant and outstanding food. The room was well presented with everything you'd need. The staff couldn't do enough for...

We stayed in the Downshire Arms, Banbridge on 31st October last. The hotel is well appointed near the centre of Banbridge. This hotel is a little dated and could do with a full upgrade in terms of decor. However it has welcoming staff and a vibrant bar. The bedroom (at least our room) could do with a makeover and/or modernised.The...

We prebooked 2 days and stayed in Rm 1. Supposedly a double but tiny and stuffy. It was quiet which was a pleasant surprise above a heaving pub. Tired on-suite with cracked wash basin, loose taps and loose loo seat. The shower had black mould in the corners. The whole place needed a deep clean. The corridor outside was above...

My wife and myself have recently returned from a 5 day/4 night stay in the Downshire Arms Hotel and we are both very impressed with the hotel. Our room was spacious and provided all the facilities that would be expected, including a modern en suite. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff who were very friendly...
