Ramona’s B&B (92 € per room) had parking right on the street in front of the B&B but it wasn’t available until after 6. After hours there was plenty in front of the B&B so if you wanted to be close, you could move your car. But there was parking at a big lot a couple blocks from the B&B....

My partner and I arrived quite late due to work commitments, and were greeted to "can you pay up front and if you're coming in late, don't be noisy". The Building is very dated and the bedrooms need updated and re-painted. Noticeable smell of damp as you walk in. Windows in the room were very dirty. Shower was cold and...

Although there is only on the street parking we had no trouble finding a parking even during the festival week. Portrush itself is an area under redevelopment but we felt very comfortable there. Jennifer and Richard were gracious hosts. The views of the sea from our room were lovely. There is a golf course and bowling green in walking distance,...

Unfortunately I have to agree with the review from Nicole, no real welcome when we arrived & owner was complaining people had cancelled. If you had problems with stairs make sure you are not on the top floor as we were. Although great for people who cannot climb stairs there is a stairlift on the first set but it then...

Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend with a friend. We were met by Richard and shown to a lovely room with stunning view of the sea. It was spotlessly clean, tv on wall, tea and coffee facilities in room ( with biscuits and little chocolates), ensuite bathroom, and the room was lovely and warm. You can adjust heating yourself....

Booked this b and b as a last minute night away. It was the only place left with vacancies and now I can see why. We where greeted at the door by what I can only describe as the rudest man I have ever met. We rang the door bell and he answered without even a hello. The only thing...

Very disappointed with the attitude of the staff. To be told that they weren't open til 5.00pm while it was obvious that there were customers being served in the restaurant. We had walked from Barrys Amusement arcade, and I am on a waiting stick so was not annoyed at being turned away. I won't be back.

On arrival the Ramona B&B looked great from outside with good carparking. However, we were ashtonished with the female host's first comments... "Are you ok to pay now before getting the keys?". No nice welcome, no wishes for a good stay, nothing. The stairs up to our room were dirty and there was a very distinct damp stench and areas...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Family run Edwardian house offering traditional bed and breakfast accommodation overlooking the recreation grounds in Portrush with a seaside location. Situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood yet close to the town centre and harbour with its restaurants. Comfortable, basic and clean accommodation with all double/twin/family rooms en-suite with hospitality trays and TVs. There is a spacious lounge and dining room for the exclusive use of guests. Steps to front door, ample parking in Ramore Avenue and sunny patio/garden area at the front with seating and sea view. Cots and highchairs available. Credit/debit cards and Euro accepted. Rate includes linen, towels and breakfast. Breakfast, normally served between 9-9:30am, consists of a traditional Irish breakfast (bacon, sausage, egg, soda bread, potato bread) and a choice of cereals, orange juice, yoghurts, fruit, grapefruit and tea/coffee. Directions to Ramona: Follow M2 and A26 from Belfast. Follow A2 and A37 from Londonderry/Derry. When entering Portrush, follow signs towards Landsdowne on the one-way system. The house is situated on an elevated site on the right opposite tennis courts and bowling greens. Transport: The Bus and Train station is 10-15 minutes walk away. We recommend travelling by train from Belfast and Derry via Coleraine. The train journey from Portrush to Derry is not to be missed for its coastal views. Pickups can be arranged from the station in Portrush by arrangement. Restaurants: The Ramore Restaurant complex at the harbour (3 minutes walk from Ramona) is renowned in Northern Ireland. In particular we recommend Ramore Wine Bar for its fantastic fresh tasting food and lively atmosphere, and the Harbour Bar, the oldest bar in Ireland. However we love 55 Degrees North (another restaurant 10 minutes coastal walk from Ramona) for its stunning unbroken views of the ocean and highly competitive meal deals. Portrush is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle and miles of sandy beaches to mention but a few of the highlights. You won’t be bored while taking a break in Portrush but we would be delighted to give you further advice on what to do, so please ask though also recommend Causeway Coast and Glens, and Discover Northern Ireland websites. ... more   less
