We live locally and eat in the Ivy Bush at least once a month and have always had a pleasant experience, enjoyable food served by welcoming staff ( particularly the Polish lady who works in the bar). However this evening (16th May) my wife and I have experienced a quite unpleasant visit ( the Polish lady was sadly not working)....

Stayed just the one night at Ivy Bush due to having an early hospital appointment the next day. Reception staff were very polite and helpful, I made a mistake booking my car in for the parking, which I think is a very good idea, and she helped me by doing it for me . We were told where our room...

The Ivy Bush is quite retro and for an older clientele but roomy with a nice lounge area for coffee after a meal. The young girl on reception had a bit of an attitude but the waiting staff were pleasant. The pate could so with a few more melba toasts and a tastier chutney. Carvery choice was plentiful with various...

Visited the Ivy Bush this week for a charity lunch and the food was so bad we ate crisps! Starters was cawl which had lumps of fatty meat in it and a piece of stale baguette. The main course was beef carvery and I have to say worse than the cawl. I love roast dinner but this was truly awful,...

Stayed 2 nights staff very good decor in need of a touch up. Breakfast good but evening food menu needs updating in choice and quality. Better of the two hotels hotels in vicinity. Would get 4 stars if a bit of money was spent on decor.

As a wheelchair user this hotel is a nightmare. There are lovely, plush, carpets everywhere, but as a wheelchair user it is SO hard to push yourself anywhere on them. The lift is tiny, my chair is especially designed for me (so is smaller, narrower, and shorter, than an average chair, but with 1 person in the lift and me,...

Several enjoyable visits to the Ivy Bush Hotel so far; can recommend for meetings: catering is generous and well presented. 'Paris Brest' one of several sweet treats enjoyed on last occasion for example. (Incidentally, Wikipedia has a useful page for this delicacy, should any staff member wish to expand their knowledge). Always encouraging to meet younger staff members with confidence...

Visited the Ivy Bush this week and could not fault the attention we were given by the staff in all areas of the Hotel. They could not do enough to make our visit enjoyable and while all the reception staff were excellent, Alison, the duty manager while we were there was exceptional. There is parking available to hotel guests and the...
