Upon arrival we was met by the lovely Eleri who put us both at ease and settled us in nicely .
We stayed in the double room which as a lovely double aspect views of the most well kept and landscaped gardens .
The bed is king-size and very comfortable and spotlessly clean ,the only minor thing for us was the pillows we found a bit uncomfortable but this is a personal thing.
Ensuite bathroom with walk in shower was a little compact but yet again spotlessly clean & the shower was easy use and water hot and nice clean towels with some essential toiletries.
There is a sofa bed also which was adequate for sitting on,cannt comment on what it's like as a sofa bed .
There is hot drink making facilities with tea & coffee and bottled water provided which was good.
Tv in room which was adequate for size of the room and well positioned, would of been nice to have some streaming services but not essential.
Outside, there is the most stunning landscaped gardens which we told they care for them themselves which is amazing 👏 with sitting areas & little paths to different parts of the garden where you can sit and look over the powys landscape.
We chose to have the evening meal which you get a choice of & we feel this is where this traditional welsh b&b excels. Eleri & David were wonderful hosts and the food was delicious you wouldn't get better in top restaurant.
The breakfast variety was adequate but all the ingredients on offer was excellent 👌 and the cooked traditional breakfast was excellent &seemed to be locally sourced with homemade jams & bread .
The only thing for us is we're not fans of shared dining experience but on this occasion it was fine for us .
The area is in a good position to go out and explore and very easy to find.
We visited lake Vyrnwy which we would recommend as its stunning and Moeifd village is about 5 minutes drive away .
Overall we had a lovely stay & we slept well and the host Eleri and David & the food was the highlight for us ,we would definitely recommend this lovely b&b .

Eleri's food was one one the highlights of our 9-day walking tour of Wales. Ordering a vegetarian meal in a B&B can sometimes be a challenge. But Eleri is a truly imaginative cook and our meal would not have been out of place in Masterchef. She's also very used to having wet walkers turn up on her doorstep and the heating was on for us and newspaper ready to stuff our boots. We really could have stayed several nights here. Eleri is a delightful host and I'd highly reccomend Tan y Graig

We spent 2 nights here whilst walking Glyndwr's way. Eleri the host is definitely up for the most friendly and accommodating host of the year award (if there was one). We walked in on the second evening after a wet 13 miles or so to find clothes maid erected, newspaper for boots and the radiator on. The evening meals were wholesome tasty and nicely cooked. Surrounding area is really attractive, the walk along the line of the River Vyrnwy between Dolanog and Pontrobert was particularly good and very quiet.

We stayed here while walking Glyndwr's Way and it was lovely to eat a delicious dinner and sleep in a comfortable bed after a long walk.

The welcome was as warm and friendly as you could wish for.

Highly recommended for walkers and other travellers alike.

Stayed here as we were visiting a live music studio in Meifod. Very accommodating. This is a lovely property with a good sized room with tv and Wi-Fi. Lovely views over the welsh hills and in the morning a full Welsh Breakfast. Will stay here again when we are in the area.

This B&B is actually called Tan y Graig, not Tan Y Craig. ( It's all to do with Welsh rules of mutation). We had a warm Welsh welcome from Eleri. We were walking the Glyndwr way, she came to collect us from the village centre. We had an excellent supper, and breakfast. Our twin room was smart, clean and comfortable. Tan y Graig was an excellent place to recover from a day's walking, and fuel up for the next day.

We arrived soaking wet after a day's walk.We were given places to dry clothes and a place by the Aga for boots. The room was comfortable, amenities good.We had a delicious, generously portioned dinner with wine.Eleri, our host went to a lot of trouble to meet my vegan diet ,having found out what was needed beforehand. The next day, after a handsome breakfast and a generously sized packed lunch,Eleri went the extra mile, literally, and took us to the start of our walk.Highly recommended.

We stayed at Tan y Craig whilst on the way to Lake Vyrnwy. Eleri was most hospitable and welcoming. Our room was clean, bright and very welcoming. The breakfast the following morning was excellent. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to return in the future.
