Great place to stay! Had a full kitchen which was nice to cook at home and save a little money. Plenty of restaurants near by, but be sure to book reservations way ahead of time! The costal walk was beautiful and close by.

Overall the location was nice. Great if you have 4 people. Beautiful view, close enough to walk to a couple of beaches. Check in was fine, but did have to call to get code as we arrived after 5. I agree that fees are a surprise, so know that you are going to pay about 150 per day extra. The villa itself is a good size, but our unit did have some issues that lowered the score. Some furniture is dated, but easy enough to get over if we didn't have other issues that we had. One of two a/c units didn't work, so one bedroom nice, but rest of rooms were 78 to 80 for the trip. We think there was termites- what looked like sand on countertop (what we thought 1st time we cleaned), but came back twice more during our stay. For sure we had roaches around the kitchen sink (adults and babies). Which meant upon arriving home worried that we might have brought some home. Overall nice location, but do to these items (extra costs and parts) would put it as a not recommend place.

Beautiful location and exquisitely appointed and luxuriously comfortable villa. Multiple grocery stores are nearby, so we saved quite a bit by making our own meals. There are two beaches within quick walking distance - one is often used by hotel guests and is calm while the other is nearly always empty or nearly so and has excellent surf. We have returned to this location repeatedly over the past years and highly recommend it. Only a single downside: the facility tends to use gas-powered gardening tools, occasionally starting quite early in the morning. For those coming from the mainland, especially the east coast, this can be distressing if it happens to be one of your first few mornings in Hawai'i.

We stayed in unit 24B4. Beautiful view of the ocean. This unit was very clean and spacious. The lanai was awesome, it had a table and chairs, great for sitting and watching the ocean. Access to the beach was very close to our room. The gated property was very clean and quiet. I would stay here and again.

8th time staying here since the 1990s, WOW has the Kapalua Villas management hit rock bottom. Check-in time is for only one hour between 4 and 5pm. "Welcome Pack" (which we kept being told we should consult for the info we were requesting which it supposedly contained) was never emailed, and when we arrived 5 minutes after 5pm, office was closed so never received anything from the management during our entire stay. Had to call security *(very nice man) to get a night service to call to get code for the unit door, as VRBO email said to contact local Kapalua Villas management for all entry and property information. Finally got door code info a hour later causing us to miss our dinner reservation. Entered unit, A/C broken and inside temp almost 90 degrees. Called Main office to report A/C outage for the WiFi login info, as the card in the room said to check the router for the login on the white sticker which didn't exist on the unit; office rep was very put off that we called, and rudely said we should have consulted our non-existent "WelcomePacK' for the info. Used towel and shampoo, with hair on bathroom floor meant someone had entered the unit and cleaned themselves up prior to our arrival. Went to use pool on last night, instead of key opening gate as usual during previous visits, there was instruction to use a "FOB" which we never received and unit key did not open gate; didn't use the pool as it wasn't worth the hassle to try and get access as it was once again past 5pm. At eaxctly 11A of last day, was greeted with a ring at the door from a staff person telling us to get out. Incredible, after all the problems with the resort. Needless to stay, will not be returning, which makes us ver sad. Please do not stay here. Property is still lovely, but unbelievable mismanagment by the current company makes staying here a nightmare so should be avoided at all costs.

Mahalo for your feedback, Jmark99. I am very sorry to hear about your experience and am sorry to learn that our customer service has fallen short of the level you deserve. I have discussed your comments with our housekeeping and front desk departments and have taken steps to reinforce our guest service polices and to follow up on the villa's deficiencies. We hope that you might consider giving us another chance in the future. It would be such a pleasure to personally welcome you back to The Kapalua Villas Maui. Negative first. Be aware that there is a Extortionate cleaning fee plus an added insurance fee plus taxes. I was charged £640 dollars extra for my 5 night stay. There is no one available after 5pm so try to arrive for check in before 5pm. On a positive side the villas are lovely and the surroundings are beautiful. There are lovely beaches to visit. We stayed local and thoroughly enjoyed the location. There is a small store on site which sells pretty much anything you will need.

Kapalua Villas Review written 23 03 27 This was supposed to be a very special post pandemic family reunion, of seven of us who hadn't seen each other in more than three years. It was Hawai, because some of us are Canadian (Toronto, B.C., Calgary) and some are Australian. I had booked two villas, with two bedrooms each, all pre-paid. Two arrived at 5 PM on Sunday: no staff at the villas. There was an envelpe at the office with our names on it. My relatives had to phone someone off site, who gave them lock box numbers. The property is very large, and it was hard to find the first unit. The staff on the phone would NOT GIVE them the lock box code for the other unit. Meanwhile it got dark, and the rest of us arrived about 8 PM. Our phones were nearly out of battery life. The person who answered for Kapalua Villas kept hanging up. We were all exhausted from a day's travel. We waited 90 minutes to get into the unit. We had had NO WARNING that the reception would be so inadequate. The next morning I went to the office see a person, who then told me that I had to pay many more fees: Tax GET Maui, Tax TAT County, Tax TAT state, (charged daily), ad Cleaning charge of $339.00 for each unit charge once for our eight day, a daily resort fee, and Damage Protection fees. The total extra I was charged was $2,784.16 US funds. (Canadian was nearly $4,000) The office staff kept telling me these charges were "on the website" and I should have known. I took out my iPad and asked the staff to show me where on the website these fees were listed. She was unable to find them.I have since been on the website many times, and never found them. My travel agent also could not find them. I have tried, via my travel agent. for two months to get a reply from the Villas, an apology for the dreadful arrival, and a reimbursement for the horrendous overcharges. I am still behind financially, since the total bill, without the overcharges, was exactly what I had budgeted for. I have travelled extensively for many years, and have never, ever, had a worse check-in, or been subjected to undisclosed and horrendously high overcharges. I had been to Hawai, including Maui, four times before and always been delighted with the venue and the services. That ended on this 8 day trip to Kapalua Villages.

Aloha 537marilynm, Thank you for choosing The Kapalua Villas Maui and sharing your candid feedback. It is disheartening to hear your experience during our after-hour check in and on behalf of The Kapalua Villas Maui please accept my personal apology as this is not typical of how we care of our guests. We hope that your next stay with us will better meet our standard of excellence. With Warmest Aloha, Romel Lizada Assistant General Manager

We have been going to a maui for 20 years, always staying at the Whaler 1224 on Kaanapali beach. Our preferred unit wasn’t available for the time we wanted, so booked Kapalua Villas for a week. The unit was huge, a one bedroom lower level. Wonderful patio looking out at a long expanse of lawn and the ocean. Kaanapali beach is one of the best in the world. Unfortunately, swimming in Kapalua is quite inconvenient. The local Oneloa Bay beach is full of coral, making swimming difficult, and a walk down to DT Fleming, not much better. Prices reasonable for Maui, but don’t expect Kehei prices.

Thank you so much for staying with us! We're so grateful that you took the time to share your feedback with us, 4Travellers1. Kapalua offers three beautiful beaches. For your next visit, try Kapalua Bay Beach. The water in the bay is calm during periods of low surf which makes swimming and snorkeling enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you back again. We had a terrible stay here. We voiced our concerns to management but nothing was done. I have stayed in 2 star hotels that were nicer. The villa was dirty, dusty and dated. The bed was terrible - you could practically feel the coils through the mattress. The room was stuffy. All decorative plants (there were a number of them in the unit we stayed in) had a ton of dust. The ceiling in the primary bedroom was even dusty and the fan kept blowing the dust around! There were black hairs that were found throughout the unit (not ours). There was a small piece of toilet paper left in the shower (I’m not sure how that would have even gotten in there - this just goes to show how little effort was put forth when they were “cleaning” the unit). The tub had a line of dirt at the bottom of it. It also did not drain properly so when you showered you stood in some water that hadn’t been drained yet. Some of the dishes in the cupboards weren’t clean. Doors had a layer of grime. It was a dated unit (large mirrors/older cupboards + decor/carpet), I understood that, but it was not well maintained/ cleaned at all. Would not return. We ended up staying elsewhere in Maui for 1/2 the price and was a much better stay.
