In the past couple of years when driving across Canada, my husband has stayed at this motel. It is quiet, reasonably priced and conveniently located within a day's drive from Toronto. There is a microwave and fridge in the room so our thawed dinner could be prepared in the room.

The décor was very dated but the beds were comfortable and the room quiet. It was also close to the restaurant which was a bonus. Nice when traveling to be able to get a nice sit down meal and then go back to the room.

We Pre Booked a week or so in advance of our travel to the area for professional obligations in the region and have stayed at many hotels in the region while working. The day we arrived it was a snowy cold miserable night to be traveling so knowing this was our sanctuary for the night I was reluctant but optimistic...

After a long drive through Ontario we found ourselves staying in White River. We were travelling with a pet and they were able to accommodate us no problem. They put us in a room at the back of the motel. The room was ragged and dirty - the kind of dirty that makes you want to shower with your clothes...

We were told "don't stay in White River". Well we stayed at the Continental and it was good. They were getting the roof shingled, but it didn't bother us, no real noise from 5pm until after 8am. This is red-neck country, so if you want a JW Merriott, well forget it. This is a good, friendly, basic motel, reasonably clean...

This motel is on the Trans Canada Highway and about 800 metres from the Via Rail railway station with its thrice weekly Budd railcars train from Sudbury traversing extremely scenic off-highway areas with heaps of lakes and swamps, plus moose and other wildlife. The motel looks to have been built in the 1950s but has been recently renovated with fairly...

Felt like highway robbery and sounded like it, too. For the price we paid, we expected much more upscale accommodations. Banging noises late at night, trailer like hallway/rooms, restaurant closed...not good at all. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

After 4 very long days of travel thru Ontario and construction, we were looking for food. The stop here was worth it. Excellent hot beef sandwich and salad. Very basic but very delicious. As a diabetic this was perfect! Thank you!

Don't get your hopes up if staying here. I will give them credit for the fridge microwave and coffee pot in the room. My room had two damp patches on the floor. Room was recently renovated but they missed one wall and the door. Bed was comfortable and I had a good dinner at catz across the highway.

Although this was my first visit to the Continental Restaurant, we have stayed at the motel numerous times in route to our annual fishing trips. It is typical of the eating establishments along the Trans-Canadian Highway 17. It has a large parking area and is easy to find. On this trip, we stopped for breakfast. We arrive early in the...
