We've stayed here twice. If you're unwilling or unable to pay Hilton Head hotel prices, this is your best option. The one negative is the musty smell, which likely comes from the AC/carpets however everything else is fine. Surely the hotel knows this and it is probably not an easy fix so they price accordingly. Comfortable bed, quiet room, safe parking lot, good clientele. A good choice for sports teams and youth groups on a budget. The breakfast won't win any awards but it is extensive, better than many places of similar or greater price and more than adequate to keep the kids satisfied. it's NOT in Hilton Head: about 12mi/20min one way without traffic to the beach. Be aware that in summer season it can take up to 1-2 hours to get into Hilton Head from this location so if you are doing fri/sat in the summer, spend the extra money to stay on the island and stay here weekdays only! Try to book this for $100 or less if possible and you should be happy with it. Usually 1-2X cheaper than beach hotels and way nicer/safer than a certain low priced colored roof on the beach ;-)…
Beds were comfortable, hot breakfast included, outdoor pool, friendly check in. Walking to room, could smell the floor which smelled of old water or mold, no tub drain but maintenance kindly brought one up for the tub. Hot breakfast attendant was friendly. Older more run down hotel but worked for one night.
The hotel wasnt clean at all. Had a horrible smell that they covered up with Febreze. Upon entering the room, there was old rice on the floor. We found a bottle of cologne that someone left behind. 10/10 do not recommend and will not stay again.
This is a fine hotel for the money and location, central to a couple of restaurants but outside that comfort zone for driving down into Hilton Head without the usual traffic headaches. Would consider staying here again depending on where my business was.
We needed a place to stay one night in between vacations and the location was good for us. However, this former Marriott property was not the right place to stay. There are reasons that it is no longer part of the Marriott group, primarily in maintenance. The place is run down and needs painting and general upkeep. The smoke detector was not fastened in place and hung from the ceiling. I hope it works. There are better options in the area.
I really dont understand a lot of the complaints. Is this an upscale, 5 star hotel ? No! It IS an older building! But...I loved my stay here. Staff was amazingly kind and friendly, despite being obviously short-staffed. The room and bed were spacious, yet cozy. Free breakfast, great amenities. I felt safe and even though near a busy street, very quiet. I will admit, It did smell a bit musty, but not so much i had problems breathing. Great stay, considering the price. Would stay here again.
Great place to stay before checking into resort. Reasonable rates, room was clean, relatively spacious, and beds were comfortable. Mini fridge and coffeemaker in room and location is close to other restaurants. Pool was small but folks were enjoying it. Could be annual event.
Very lovely hotel has stayed for four months one of the best worthy stay at okatieeA1 service and lovely atmosphere environment friendly and believe it or not has best house keeping service at the end go there and rock your world should be nations choice.
Visited the area for the Marine Corp graduation on Parris Island. Our check in was easy. I never got a chance to eat the breakfast, we left before it started to get to the island (about 20-25 min drive). No noise heard in the halls in the night. The only thing I recommend if they haven’t done- is change the exterior light time... the parking lot was total blackness when we left the hotel at 6a. The room was clean.
We stayed at the Fairfield to visit family nearby over Thanksgiving. The staff was friendly, efficient, and hardworking, from Toussaint who checked us in, to Jawaun at breakfast, to the other breakfast lady and front desk personnel — they really made the stay a pleasure. The rooms were nice and clean. The price/value ratio made this a good deal as well. We will definitely stay here again for our next visit to Bluffton.
